The futility of good works without holiness in the pursuit of heaven

O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? For your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goes away. Hosea 6:4.

And Ephraim said, yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that was sin. Hosea 12:8. Note: the God of heaven is the God of saints – just and true in all his ways (Revelation 15:3), so should they be just and true in all their ways and affairs on earth which are called to be saints and inheritors of the celestial or heavenly Jerusalem if they hope to ascend into the hill of God and to dwell with the devouring fire and everlasting burnings throughout all eternity. Isaiah 33:14-16.

God delights in the propserity of his children, but not the wrong riches – As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. Jeremiah 17:11.

What shall it profit a man, though he gain the whole world, bit loose his soul? There is a different between the blessings of the Lord which make a man rich without any sorrow from the ill gotten riches and blessings from cheating others of the their riches, falsification of figures, diversion of funds, defraud others, etc. The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked (sinner) seduces them. Proverbs 12:26. You cannot steal, prostitute, commit adultery, take bribes, sell illicit drugs and use the reward of sin or profits from them to pacify the wrath of God against all them that holds the truth in unrighteousness, but there is no unrighteousness in him – better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.  Proverbs 28: 6.

Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked. Psalms 37:16. Money, profits, gains, blessings and rewards gotten from unrighteous, unjust and ungodly ways shall only cause you trouble, not only here, but throughout all eternity – better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith. Proverbs 15:16.

The sacrifices of your good works must be from a clean vessel and righteous sources. We are not set free by the Lord to continue in sin and to offer him part of the reward of iniquity – thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore (prostitution, fornication, adultery, gays, lesbian, gigiolo’s lifestyles profits) or the price of a dog into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abominations unto the Lord thy God. Deuteronomy 23:18.

The sinner, bringing and seeking to offer any of his gifts and sacrifices for God’s work is an abomination to the Lord, how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind – unregenrate soul.  Proverbs 21:27. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Who shall stand in his holy place? He that has clean hands and pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.  Psalms 24: 3-5.

Thy throne O God is forever and ever. The scepter of thy kingdom is the scepter of righteousness. You loved righteousness and hated iniquity. Hebrews 1:8-9. God detest the unrighteous man with his unrighteous gains been used for any of the holy works and purposes. With God, the end doesn’t justify the means. If you want to relieve the widows, build houses for the orphans, and give them scholarships to the university, it should be from the godly sweat of your labourious work. Morally wrong actions are condenmanble, even if they achieve morally right outcomes. You cannot steal, defraud others, prostitute, fornicate, commit adultery, prophesy for money, get involves in ritual or magical money, and take bribes or involves in an illicit bussiness for gain in the name of, or for the motive of helping to, or making the life of other people better – this is foolishness, merely the love of money, which is the root of all evil: but they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1Timothy: 6:9-10.

The believer in Christ Jesus should have contentment with whatever state he found himself, if he has truly escaped the corruption that is in the world through lusts, lest the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches should choke the power of the word of God to death in his life. Note: little is much, so they say when God is in it. Godliness without contentment is a great loss – and he said unto them, takes heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consist not in the abundance of the things which he possesses. Luke 12:15.

Believers should detest and avoid acquiring temporal treasures and blessings by false means because he want to participate in the works of God in his church – the getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. Proverbs 21:6.

They should eshew dishonest gain, unrighteous mammon, and to walk and live in the fear of God, lest they fall unto the condemnation of coveteousness which is idolatory, for which thing sake the wrath of God is coming on the children of disobedients, let them resist and eschew the temptation to envy the prosperity of the wicked while they patiently awaiting God’s blessings for his faithful children – a faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20.

Certain partnesrships in business are not practically good for those who are mindful of heaven, if they are not going through it through the broad way and wide gate leading up to hell. Whatever businesses that facilitates others to sin is implicating if we are in it. Woe unto the world because of offenses. Woe unto the man through whom offense comes. Though he gains a lot, but will God accepts such wicked man’s work, his person and offerings or tithes? Certainly not! Rather, his involvement and facilitating of sin in others is his condemnation to hell. Should a believer partner or collaborate in any way to facilitate, encourage or help a thief of any type in any way to escape his victim or the wrath of the law for any gain, he will share from the divine curse and punishment of the thief before God – whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and bewrayeth it not. Proverbs 29:24.

Because you want to help your church, you don’t pay your tax, it is altogether as robbing God to do church work. How can you defraud the nation of her tax to do the work of God who has established the authority of the state to run her admistrative works by taxing the people? A child of God shouldn’t cheat the nation by tax evasion or false declaration of his income tax with the motive to help another, such action is not a just weight and balance (Proverbs 11:1), but an abomination to God who has called us to provide for honest things before him as well as in the sight of others. 2 Corinthians 8:21.

Spiritually broken believers should be able to put difference between what is clean and unclean, between holy and unholy blessings. Only righteounsess delivers from death, ill-gotten treasures profit nothing, though it is used to help the poor, it will not deliver your soul from going into hell. Proverbs 10:2.

Mind not high things. Except it is by godly means and right way, greedy and coveteous Christians are doing things after vain glory contrary to the scriptures, seeking and acquiring riches by whatever means unthinkable to live, help others and do the works of God. Believer’s continuation in well doing should be from the pureness of his heart and cleanness of his hands, not from the prosperity of the wicked in pursuit after eternal glory, honor and immortality. Romans 2:7.

Why were we saved to be God’s workmanship created for good works in Christ Jesus? Is it not to show forth the fruits of the righteousness of God which are by Christ Jesus? What is the texture or composition of the marriage gown prepared and shall be given the bride of the Lord for the feast with the King’s Son? Is it not written that the bride shall be arrayed in fine linen, white and clean for celebration in the marriage supper of the Lamb with the bridegroom; and that this fine linen, white and clean is the righteousness of the saints – believer’s good works? Revelation 19:8.

You have not been called and saved out of the world to please or impress man, but to serve God in spirit and in truth all the days of your life. Lazarus was a poor beggar, but by circumstance, without any good work on his account on earth, made heaven (Luke 16:22): a poor, but incapable honest saint in terms of financial or monetary gain to help others is better than a liar or sinful rich believer who is generous, though well spoken about everywhere – home, church and abroad for his good works – better is the poor that walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. Proverbs 28:6.

God is at work in us, both to will and do according to his good pleasure, but will not lead us into any of the works of the ungodly, to practice any evil works for unrighteous gain (incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: And let me not eat of their dainties. Psalms 141:4), otherwise, your marriage robe with the Lamb shall not be white and clean anymore, but nothing unclean shall inherit the kingdom of heaven – I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:12

Let us do evil that good may come, whoose damnation is sure. Romans 3:8.

There’s no measure or amount of humanitarian and philanthropist works in the name of humanity that will secure a place in heaven for anyone if their good works are not wrought with the true and clean supply according to God’s riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We should do good works, but it should not be at the expense of a sanctified life and walk in holiness, without which no man shall see God. God prefers and is well pleased with our subjection to the gospel of Christ above any sacrifce of good works coming from a dubious and corrupt lifestyle or gain. Note: the holiness of God consists in everything that is just, truthful, honest, holy and in all godliness: let everyman that names the name of Christ departs from sin, lest they should be rebuff and reject on that day by Christ himself as workers of iniquity. Matthew 7:22.

The scripture plainly declares that the sin and condemnation of false teachers, pastors, apostles and prophets and teachers is sure and fast coming upon them by teaching false doctrines with sweet and flattering words for gain – unrighteous gain. Though they should take some parts of their false gains to invest towards building of hospitals and schools, giving scholarships to the needy, provides pipe or well water with electricity supply for the villagers, to better the less privileges as part of their seemingly righteous works and good deeds,  yet, God is not moved or pleased by any of those outward show of good works coming from the greediness and gain of doctrinal manipulation of souls that are deceived: therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Isaiah 9:14-16.

Of what eternal good shall the good works done on earth from the profits of false doctrines, after leading and diverting souls from the truth and sound teaching unto sweet and flattering speeches for filthy lucre sake, supposing that gain is godliness? But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not. 2 Peter 2:1-3.

You can build churches, send out missionaries, supports new churches with finances, but if they are from the offerings and donations of the wages of unrighteousness like Balaam, who gave a false counsel and doctrine unto Balak to make the children of Isreal to commit fornication and to eat things offered unto idols, know that you cannot escape the damnation of hell – the Lord will hold you responsible for the blood and souls you’ve led astrayed.

Though, God gave instruction to Joshua to kill Balaam for his false teaching and counseling for gain, having made three thousand people to perish by his quest for wealth and honor that comes from man, himself will send the false teachers and apostles, pastors, evangelists, prophers and false brethren to hell for teaching things they ought not to for dirty gain – wages of unrighteousness – but truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us. Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. Micah 3:8-12.

How do you expect God to spare you from going to hell if your greediness for money cover under the radar of sweet talks and sugar coated speeches make men for whom Christ died go to hell and you should be given a free pass and entrance to heaven? Wherefore I take you to record this day that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God – Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Acts 20:16-17.

There is no such thing as a good devil, not in the church, neither in the world. Should anyone in Christ Jesus be in a league with Satan to help other people, though they prophesy in Baal (and I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Jeremiah 23:13-14) or by divination spirit and power (and it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying. Acts 16:16) to deceive others for gain, but think that as long as it is to do good, heaven is sure?  If Christ has failed in his temptation to bow and worship Satan for wealth and fame of the world (Mattew: 4:9), could God graciously guarantee and grant a place in heaven to any believer who was once a worshipper of God, but now bow unto Satan in exchange for power, fame, wealth and riches to get to heaven – If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 1 John 5:16.

You must choose one or the other. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons. A converted, baptized and spirit filled believer or servant of God who seeks to have fellowship or to obtain power of darkness to promote the Lord’s cause on earth should forget about his name written in the Lamb’s book of life – it’s been blotted for his pursuits after vanity in exchange for his soul – woe to him that builds a town with blood, and establish a city by iniquity! Behold, is it not of the Lord of hosts that the people shall labor in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity? Habakkuk 2:12-13.

I will declare thy works and righteousness and it shall not profit thee. Isaiah 57:12.

It could have been better if Ananais and his wife were quieted about helping others, they should not have died prematurely and lose their soul to hell for their deception of the brethren in the church and lying to God. Think about the intended good actions of the couple but executed in a wrong and dishonest manner before God!

This was their own money they perished with, but how much shall any believer, who has forcefully and deceitfully taken from others, robbed others, taken bribe etc to help the church or the poor shall likewise perish with his defiled blessings and good works throughout all eternity!
