The God of all grace – understanding the true grace of God

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10. Note: the grace might make us an elder to lead others as the young Timothee was chosen to oversee a local church. But those who have received grace should know how to keep and increase it by staying humble, not rude, or exalt themselves over others, or arrogant towards others, but by good examples through grace, serve God and others in humility: the elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Acts 20:19. 1 Peter 5:1-5.

From our text, we see God as the God of all grace which speaks of unlimited possibilities in God for any opportunity or priviledge. Grace make all things possible, for with God, nothing shall be impossible. Whatever we lack or desire, we can implore grace to obtain it. There is enormous provision of grace available for every need to be met in Christ Jesus, but where this is not so, God knows the reason why, for he will never withhold anything good from us, exceot he knows that it is not good for us: meanwhile, his grace  shall be made sufficient for us to rest and be satisfied in his unfailing love: many things can fail, but not his everlasting love, it will not fail: in the heart where this assurance is established, nothing can separate the soul, spirit and body from the love of God- may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, abide with you, now and forevermore. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14.

The grace of God is the unmerited favour and mercy shown, bestowed or given when we don’t even ask or think about it because God generously give; first to save us; and second, to do his will. There is nothing anyone can have from, spiritually do consistently to the end in the kingdom, or to accomplish in God without constant supply of his grace. Note: when humility increases, grace auguement – God resist the proud, but gives grace to the lowly. James 4:6. When help is sought after through prayer, grace shall be given to overcome our trials and temptations, help is sent, and God will make a way out of the same temptation for us to bear and have victory. Hebrews 4:16. 1 Corinthians 10:13. When we give ourself to meditate day and night in the word of God, that we might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, grace is multiplied to operate in greater dimension. Thereofore, let us grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, that grace and peace can be multiplied to us through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2. 2 Peter 3:18.

Believer is in the covenant of grace with God in Christ Jesus – it is the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace is everything Christ stands for in the life of a believer. Grace is everything a believer stands for and live by in Christ Jesus – Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Zechariah 4:7. Believers should be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, by standing firm on the true grace of God (by Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.1 Peter 5:12), contending for the old faith, which was once delivered unto the saints, lest any be taken away from the true grace of God by false doctrines and flattering gospel of this age against their salvation and eternal life – would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Corinthians 11:1-4.

Grace is the spiritual cord that bond the Redeemer and the redeemed together, cut away the grace, the believer is cut off from Christ. Galatians 1:6. Grace led the sinner to the Saviour, and grace proclaimed pardon for sinner to become a child of God by the righteousness of God in Christ Jesuss. He was saved by grace, through faith, but the faith was also given him by grace. In Christ Jesus, there are different layers and levels of grace and faith. The general faith we all received for the grace that saved us is different from the grace given or received to operate in different dimensions of faith in the adminisration of the body of Christ: having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith. Romans 12:6.

Apostle Paul continually speaks of his own work by giving credit and success to the grace of God working in him, saying, I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10. According to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. Ephesians. 3:7. He frequently calls upon Christians to exercise their gifts according to the grace that was given them (Romans 12:6), according to the measure of the gift of Christ’ (Ephesians 4:7).

Man is will be an empty, dry and dead soul or being, if the grace is absent: become like Samson after his dreadlock was cut off – weak and powerless: and Samson did not know that God had departed from him, he fell from grace. To operate in Christ beyond the measure of grace received, is to deceive others, despise and mock the spirit of grace, and to lie against God. This was the error of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, when they acted beyond what was commanded them, they lost the favor of God,  failed of his grace, which was restored by Christ, after he has by the grace of God, tasted death for us (Hebrews 2:9): looking diligently, lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. Hebrews 12: 15-17.

Christ was said to be full of grace and truth. John 1:14. Grace is inseparable from the truth, righteous and godly living – for the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2: 12-14. If we use the grace of God to nulify or twist any of the truth, grace will not cover our substraction or addition to the word of God, he will reproof us for despising his word and take us for liars (Proverbs 30:6), signifying that we have not received or known the grace of God in truth (Colossians 1:6): but such action will be to the disadvantage of the culprit throughout all eternity in hell. 2 Peter 3:16.

Grace was the transport of revelation to Abel which prompted him to offer the firstlings of his flock for a pleasing and an acceptable offering to God above Cain’s. Enoch found grace to walk by faith before God and was translated to heaven without seeing death. Grace for faith brought the favour that Noah found before God, warned and saved by the ark from the flood.

The gospel of faith was first preached to Abraham. Galatians 3:8. Walk with me by faith through my grace was the voice that Abraham heard and obeyed, when he came out to live a separated life unto God, while Isaac and Jacob were also favoured to continue under the same covenant  of grace. The grace of God is the extention of impartation of divine favor and human positioning on earth in the exercises of God’s sovereign goodness in the distributions of his unlimited resources – grace is not only given to believers alone, but the unbelievers as well enjoy or receives grace on earth, but theirs is not the grace of salvation. Grace was that which Jacob as the youngest obtained from God while his oldest brother – Essau was not shown or given, – for the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth; It was said unto her, the elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Romans 9:11-16. Grace was the revelation which prepared the young Joseph for his future glory and greatness over his brothers – gave him favor at Portiphar’s house – gave him favor in the prison – gave him favor before Pharaoh to set him up as a prime minister in the land of Egypt. Grace was the power which set Ephraim up, the youngest of Josephs’s sons in blessing above Manasseh his oldest brother: and through grace, both were favoured, so that in them shall the nation of Israel bless saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manaseh. Genesis 48:20. Grace qualifies anyone who receives it into position of relationship and authority in the kingdom according to the purpose of him that calls – God: it is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron. 1 Samuel 12: 6. Grace was the fire that burned the bush to attract Moses intrest and got his attention for his commission to deliver and lead of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt to the Promised Land – And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. Exodus 33:17.

Those who perceives the grace of God in their brethren, but hardens, resist, obstruct by jealousy or whatever insecurity to acknowledge or tap into it for the good of all shall answer for their opposition against God, his wrok and kingdom. Individual’s gifts of grace speaks for itself, either administrative or ministerial. We don’t need to force anything or try to impress anyone than to focus on whatever ministry we received from God to accomplish it. Galatians 2:9.

Though the nature of our assignments, and position of our relationship and spiritual authority differs in God (Numbers 16:8-10), but they are all for his glory, for the same Lord. Grace empowers and qualifies anyone who receives it into the position of relationship and authority in the kingdom of God – it is the Lord that advanced Moses and Aaron. 1 Samuel 12: 6.  Grace was the power that lifted Gideon, he who was the least from his father’s house, and from the least of the family in the land, was called and chosen to lead and reign as king in Israel. The grace of God over the life of David speak out from the mouth of prophet Samuel in the house of Jesse, before his father and oldest brothers, when he asked, are these all the sons you have? There is still the youngest, Jesse answered was the last born o he is tending the sheep. Samuel said, send for him, we will not sit down until he arrives, and the ruddy, youngest son of Jesse was preferred by God above all his brethren, anointed as king over Isarel. 1 Samuel 16:11. Grace was the power which secured and enthroned Solomon – the beloved of the Lord, as the next king after David instead of Adonijah, who was the natural heir to the throne, Adonijah himself admitted that it was his from the Lord. 1 kings 2:15.

The administrative gifts of grace are for men and women, young and old in the body of Christ, never to be confused or mixed with the ministerial gifts of grace, given exclusively to men, lest those who are not called to occupy any office from the five fold ministry should despise, ignore and transgress the word of God for whatever reason, excuse or purpose to their detriment- Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 1 Corinthians 14: 34-38. God doesn’t discriminate between male and female, they are all one in Christ Jesus. In the orderliness of God, because of her position in the creation, and for the role she played in the trangression in the Garden, it is required of her to learn in submission in the church; though there are many other works and ministry where she can and will be of help, but not to stand up to preach as an apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher or evangelist – these are men’s thing – but I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. 1Timothy 2:12-15.

The grace of God empower and facilitate the believer in all the will of God, from the beginning of his conversion to the end of his walk on earth in Christ Jesus – Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12.

God’s commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3): whatsoever his word instructs us to do or not to do: to become in the world, or not to become, there is a proportional grace to abide in the love and will of God – and hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keeps his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 1 John 2:3-5.

Where we are lacking behind to grow in submission and obedience to the word of God, we should not ignore it, lest the word we ignored or despised should stand against us in judgement, but to ask for grace to conform to the word, that we might made perfect and complete in all the will of God. Without grace obtained from his intense prayer, Christ was hesitant to die, his soul was sorrowful and his body was weak in the garden – for although he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him: but we shall live with him by the power of God. 2 Corinthians 13:4.

The Lord prayed and asked that the cup – cross should pass over him, but when he though otherwise, for the purpose he came into the world, asked that the will of the Father might be done, the angels strenghtens him and grace was given to face Calvary and Golgotha to die for us – but we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9.

Is there something God is asking us to give up or to do that we think we cannot give it up or do?  Either because we are not willing to let go in rebellion, or we have not seriuosly ask for his grace to comply with his demands and will. We are not sufficient in ourselves to think or do anything by ourself, but our sufficiency is of God through his grace. There is particular grace of God for everything concerning the fulfilment of his will in your life. There is grace to overcome whatever trial, and grace to become all that God intends for us to be according to his will. God will give and grace glory, he will also give strenght and power. There is no hard saying or difficult truth – word of God which we cannot abide therein, except the truth for which grace has not been soght after to obey. This is where many people get it wrong about the grace of God in their unwillingness to seek for grace and help through prayer to live by every word which comes out from his mouth. There is no grace given us from God to walk in our own ways against his ways, or to fulfill or satisfy the sinful desires of the flesh and of the mind against divine pleasures, but we can receive grace to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, if we want and seek for it from the throne of grace.

Grace is indispensable. There is abundance of grace available to reign in life in Christ Jesus. Our King reing in righteousness, we can also reign now with him in the paths of righteousness for the sake of his holy name. Grace is not available to sow to the flesh to reap incorruption, but there is grace to sow into the spirit to reap incorruptible and imortality, eternal life. When we live contrary to the word of God, we are sowing corrruption against our soul, every word of God is pure – the seed which gives us the new birth in Christ Jesus is incorruptible seed of the word of God. Is there any sinful habit or moral depravation which grace cannot overcome? There isn’t any yoke or burden the anointing of grace cannot remove or broken (Isaiah 10:27), wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29.

In the faithfulness of God in the continuance process of the sanctification of his saints, grace becomes the facilitator for us to become like Christ in whatever God made Christ to become unto us, but of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30. We walk by faith, that it might be by grace, if we are doers of the word, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offenses, but was raised for our justification. Romans 4:24-25.

There is grace to suffer shame for his name and to receive it with joy without been offended or ashamed in Christ. There is grace to be faithful as it is required in a steward to be faithful in all things. There is grace to walk and live in holiness, without which no man shall see God. There is grace to endure whatever light affliction sent to us, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. There is no present pain or wound which the facilitator balm of Gilead cannot ease us from it or heal us. There is no cross too heavy to bear that the facilitator grace will not empower us to carry by making it lightly for us to bear as if nothing is happening.

Apostle Paul never knew that there was such a grace available to facilitate peace and tranquility in his situation in the thorn of his flesh when he prayed three times before God to remove the thorn from him; but the Lord answered by showing him the facilitator grace to help him bear up or to cope with his affliction sent to keep him humble according to the wisdom and will of God against pride and from it present debasement and future destruction in hell. Apostle Paul asked for the  facilitator grace to rejoice and take pleasure in his infirmities, necessities and reproaches and weaknesses, that the power of God may rest upon him. 2 Corinthians 12:10.

The facilitator grace is the power to adapt to any season without trangression. Apostle Paul will go on to say that ‘I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me’. Philippians 4:12-13.

Facilitator grace ampower and embolden us for the application of truth and not to compromise or excuse truth for whatever reason because (a) nothing can be done against the truth, but for the truth: (b) grace, truth and righteousness are inseparable – our God is a God of truth without iniquity. There is no grace to rebel against the light in our walk with God, but grace is available unto us, if we ask for it to accommodate into the will of God, his revealed will. Facilitator grace is the pure, timely and perfect gift from heaven, sent to help us to overcome any besetting and secret sins, if we will ask for help – O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Psalms 43.3.

Believers are called the objects of God’s mercy because of the grace that saved us. Romans 9:23. Good to say that one grace leads the way to another grace; as it is written, that of the fullness of Christ, have we all received grace upon grace, if we make use of the grace previuosly received, we shall receive more. John.1:16. Whatsoever  we are not doing according to the will of God is because we are not willing to obey – not willing to receive facilitator grace to fulfill the word of God, but if we are not fulfilling the scriptures, one day, the scriptures shall be fulfilled in our eyes. Where shall you hide your face on that day?

This is the time we need more of the facilitator grace of God to stand and do the will of God in this perverse and crooked generation – to keep your first love with increasing fire burning on the altar of your life, it requires the supply of the facilitator grace from Christ. To be steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the works of the Lord, in this period of time when iniquity is increasing in the world and in the church, and the love of many wax cold – when brother is betraying one another in the Lord, and believers shall be hated by all men for the Lord’s sake, you must invoke your right from the throne of grace to receive facilitator grace to defend the cause of Jesus, to live for him before all men, just as the faithful patriachs of old through grace stood their ground, though they had trial of cruel mocking and scourging, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. Hebrews11:36-38.

When I newly come to Christ –  born again, I found it extremely difficult to separate from certain friends in the world, guilty of unequally yoked. Their influence over my life was so powerful until I pray for power to overcome unequally yoked with sinners’ friend, until we peacefuly parted ways because many of them refused to come to Christ, but they want me in their company. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. Be not conformed to the world – love not the world, neither the things which are in the world – friendship with the world is enmity against God – keep yourself unspotted from the world – come out of the world, and be ye separate, says the Lord – strive to enter in through the straight gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many people follows it – if a man strive for mastery, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully – blessed are the pure in heart, they shall see God: all of these demands from God  requires the help of the facilitator grace upon us, which we can obtain from him, without which we shall be powerless.
