The Power, glory, beauty and blessings of humility
Share

A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Proverbs 29:23.

While the nominal Christians and the unbroken believers in the church shows off by glorying themselves in the flesh, the spiritually broken believers are crucified to the world, and the world is crucified to them; having crucified the flesh to the cross, its pride, affections and lusts.

Even the world speaks of respect for everyone, the sign and slogan of respect is a very good one, but true humility is from the spirit of God, coming from the heart of a man who is born again, consciously walking in the spirit to produce one of the fruit of the spirit, humility.

Humility is a choice to make daily in our walk, just as Adam and Eve decided to be independent of God, they became arrogant by the choice to eat the fruit forbidden by God. Note: Christ obedient unto the death of the cross, was powered by his humility from the beginning to the end to fulfil the scripture and the will of his Father: those who will not tremble to the word of God, to honour and obey, are falling by pride on the Rock, but shall be broken into pieces for their disobidient and rebellious against the word.

God’s angry rejection King Saul the first of Israel was for his arrogant disregard and disobedient against divine instructions to fight and totally destroyed the Amalekites. God regretfully expressed his perceived opinion of king Saul as a responsible and humble young man of a child like spirit, but not as he hoped for, disappointed for Saul’s opinionated mentality, attitude and spirit against what was commanded to do at the battle. God changes nor fails not, neither has he mistakenly by error appointed Saul as the first king of Israel: but as a man of unstable mind, self willed and indecisive man can easily changed as chameleon to his own destruction, leans to his own understanding, and walk in his own ways, instead of God’s to fulfil his own thoughts against the thoughts of God, so he changed from what was expected of him.

The question and answer of Saul’s calamity and God’s immidiate action rest in man’s reliability in his responsibility as a faithful servant. Note: God gives power and authority to man for his purpose, but not for man’s pride. No man’s position of authority and power with God, does not equal to power and equality with God who is above all, his kingdom rules over all, and over all things.                                                                                                                                                                                King Saul quickly sprout wings as soon as he became king, so much that God angrily removed his as the king, just as he angrily install him, to satisfy the demand of his people for a King (Hosea 13:11): then Samuel said unto Saul, stay, and I will tell thee what the Lord hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, say on. And Samuel said, when thou was little in thine own sight (humbled and teachable in godly simplicity) was thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? 1 Samuel 15:16-17.

To start with, God will choose the humble and insignificant people; the outcast and men of uncircumcised lips, weakest and the basest of men, sanctify and empower them to fulfil special works and purposes for his glory: for you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish thing to confound the wise. Most of the time, the ungrateful man always forget his unmeritorious stature before God to become deceived by pride like king Nebuchadnezzar for whatever position, glory, power, wisdom, blessings and praise from men to puff up before God and over others, but God look on every one that is proud, and abase them. He has shown strength with his arm and has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. Daniel 4:17. Job 40:11-12.

Today, if you hear his voice, do not hardens your heart. Is not my word like fire, and like hammer that breaks the rock into pieces? Jeremiah 23:29. Be humbled before the word and to the Lord. If the word of God cannot break you, nothing will break you. Those who will not broken now for thier own good, shall be broken in regret afterward for eternity. Your hardness and impenitent heart cannot resist, but to cry for the sorrow and horrow of hell, where there worrms dies not, and their fire is not quenched: the rich man, being in hell, in torments, lifted  up his voice, being broken, but eternally helpless, think about this.

If the word of God cannot break you, nothing shall do. The degree to which you yield yourself continually to the word to be transformed by it, shall reveal the height of your brokenness in the heart and spirit, the quality and intensity of your zeal in godly fear to serve God and others for the hope set before you in heaven: my son, attends to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart: they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22.

If the heart is not spiritually broken by the word of God, we tend to designate the eternal and immutable word of God to a particular continent or geographical location and for an era. We tend to forget that whatever was written in the past was written to teach us, that through endurance and  encouragement of the scriptures, we should increase in hope for the glory that shall be revealed in us at the appearing of our Lord Jesus. We are likely to forget to grasp the truth that what happened to the church in the wilderness should serve as the warnings shot to discipline ourself to live and walk wisely before God, we, to whom the end of the world is come. Forever O Lord, your word is settled in heaven – the heaven and earth shall pass away, not one jot from the word of God shall pass away unfulfilled, nor be altered for any generation or people: it is written and given for all ages; and his commandment is everlasting.

Today, Satan is deceiving many into believing that the world has so much evolved and civilized in order to influence the unstable who wrest with the word of God to modernize and lower his holy and moral demands to comform to the present decaying state  of the corruption that in the world through lusts. When the heart is hardened to brokeness by the word of God, such people are easily offended and angry at the undiluted spoken word of God –  against the preacher. This is a rebellious and prideful spirit of those who are resisting the inner trasformative works of the Spirit of God in them. It is needless to strive with the preacher, those who resist the messanger resist his master who sent him and gave him what he should say.

We ought to take the word of God personally for his love, considering that the Lord is speaking to us as Father to his beloved sons and daughters to help us to mend our ways and doings before him for our good. It is wrong and sinful, unacceptable to God, to get angry with the preacher because he has spoken against the sins in us for what is written in the word. In such a manner of behaviour, the word will not profit us by its sanctfying power, the washing water by the word, to accopmlish the intended purpose of God to present us faultless without any blemish before him, but to stay in the foolishness of sin, to perish in our gainsayings and vain thoughts. Proverbs 27:22. Ephesians 5: 26-27.

The word of God is a mirrow to help us see clearly what and how we are now, as to prepares us for how, and what we should appears before God – prepare to meet thy God. The redemptive work and sacrifice was accomplished by our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. The Spirit has been given and we only need have the word in us for use in the days of evil and against temptations from enemy to overcome the corruption that is in the world through lusts. Without your thoughtful and careful observation of the word of God in our daily walk, you cannot overcome all that must be overcome to inherit all things – the flesh, Satan, world, negative infleunces, false prophets and pastors, false brethren, ungodly cultures and customs of the world, system, ways and lifestyles unacceptable before God.                                                                 The church is like a school where we go to learn the ways and manners of God, but the proud has nothing to gain from scholling. The humble Christian is thankful for the admonition, correction or teachings received in the spirit of meekness, but the haughty and blind believer indignantly rejects corrections and warnings: sometimes, he abandons his local church to another assembly where men are listens to sweet, but deceitfully flattery words for the destruction of the hearers.

Who wants to eat the dry bread where there is opportunity for fresh one? Who wants to continue drinking milk when there is strong meat at the table? Those that have truly tasted of the swetness and goodness of the Lord will desire more of him and less of other things until they are completely transformed into his image and likeness.

Graciousness – humble spirit would help you to keep and maintain whatever you have received or will be sent from the Lord, but any sense of entitlement – pride will destroys the beauty and valor of any good and perfect gift from above, even your salvation.

The testimony of divine love, forgiveness and justification received from Jesus by Mary to her sister Martha instil the idea and desire in Martha to invite and host Jesus at Bathany in her home. This is how Jesus became the family friend to Mary, Martha and their brother, Lazarus whom he raised from dead. Luke 10:38.

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. John 11:5-6.

The love and friendship of our Lord for Martha, and her sister, and  Lazarus, commenced from the encounter Mary had with Christ at Simeon’s house. She was the source of that spiritual blessing used by the Lord for her family and many others that believed in the Lord when he raised Lazarus from dead. John 11:45.

Mary’s love for the Lord,  and her daily devotion before the Lord, right from her encounter and conversion until the end were in a true and complete humility of mind, thoughts, words, life styles. Weeping, by washing the feet of the Lord with her tears and dried them with her hairs, she was inwardly boken by her sin and by the presence and glory of the Lord her Saviour Jesus. Luke 7:44.

Those who are spiritually broken by genuine encounter, not only surrender themselves, but surrender completely to consecrate their gains and every other things in their life unto the Lord. Of a truth, unto whomsoever little is forgiven, the same loves little, but unto whomsoever mush is forgiven, the same loves much. Luke 7:47.

Whatsoever was her past gain in the world, though she will never go back to such a sinful and shameful work of a cursed profit anymore, but shall be used for the present furtherance of the gosple of Christ……and it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, and certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and Many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. Luke 8: 1-3.

Mary begins her pilgrim spiritual journey with Christ in the humility of a child like’s faith and spirit, when she ‘knelt down at the feet of Jesus’ for pardon and salvation (Luke 7:38) which continue in her spiritual growth as she ‘sat at the feet of Jesus’ to receive the word of God at Bethany; while Martha occupied herslf in the kitchen to make food. Luke 10: 39.

Mary, in her hour of great sorrow and loss, at the death of her brother Lazarus, whe others will tear and break, she waited patiently for her Saviour’s arrival, perhaps, she’s hoping and expecting for a miracle of resuscitation of Lazarus back to life which eventually hapened. Seeing Jesus by the grave of Lazarus, she fell down again to worship at the ‘feet of Jesus, saying, Lord, if thou hast been here, my brother had not died. John 10: 31-32.

Proud Christians are a disgrace to God for their spiritual folly of an arrogance spirit. Even the mentally mad man at Gadarene, when he finally got delivered from the legions of his demons after so many years of torment and bondage, sat down at the ‘feet of Christ. Luke 8:35.

After being used on earth, only the broken Christains shall not be rejected by God at the end. For now, God fills up the vessels of honour and dishonour, but the sanctified vessels are prepared and preserved for the future eternal services before God. Increasing spiritual brokenness increases pure love and desire for the Lord, yearning for more of God’s presence and fullness in us. Those who walks in pride and will not direct their affairs in all meekness before God are blind, and cannot see afar off: the humble man who is filled with the spirit filled, and walking in the fruit of the spirit, has positioned himself to be heard by God, and to receive of him – Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear. Psalms 10:17.

I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Job 23:12.

Mary’s priority and pursuit was to dwell on the word of God, and to be fed by the bread that endures unto eternal life was the best choice honoured and testified by the Lord, which shall not be taken from her, while Martha’s requested the Lord to excuse Mary to aid her in the kitchen was denied, as it is written, yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. Deuteronomy 33:3. Luke 10:42.

Finally, after the prodigal son was broken by his precarious situation, he went back and begged his father, not to be taken back as a legitimate child, but supplicated to become a submissive servant to his father. Broken believers are submissive in the spirit of a servant to the Lord and their brethren: they will not fall into the same pitfall of the taunted Jeshurun (Israel) who waxed fat, and kicked: grown thick, covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. Deuteronomy 32:15.

Whenever we get deceived to think haughtily of ourself, having a speculative vain imagination of ourself, we are living in a fool paradise. As a believer, you cannot believe in yourself, except the Lord. You cannot trust in yourself or anyone, except the Lord. Be careful of the false gospel mesaages ‘I am’ in the place of I can do all things through him that strenghtens me, because without him, you can do nothing.

Mary began her spiritual walk ‘at the feet of the Lord, and at his feet she ended up her lowly service of devotedness in the presence of all before the death of Christ, as she took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. John 12: 3.

Mary’s humble devotion and attachment to the Lord increases her sensitivity to the voice of God’s spirit, enabling her to know those things that are needful before the Lord. She was conscious to Christ immediate need: conscious of her personal responsibility to divine call to preparate the annointing  to anoint the Lord’s body against his death and burial and ressurrection.

The high cost of the sweet ointment poured on Christ was of no importance to Mary in comparison to the inestimable worth of the value of Christ in her life, she ignored the false allegations and charges of being wasteful by Judas Iscariot. When the heart is spiritually broken, the gift or the material possession of whatever cost is lesser in sight and value for the service of the possessor of heaven and earth- God.

Humility lifestyle gives you more power and space to operate before God, but pride will rob anyone of such power and position to operate before him. Queen Vashti was deposed for her prideful rebellious behaviour to the king, but Esther was honoured, favoured and empowered to replace her as queen – a man’s arrogant will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor. Proverbs 29:23. God didn’t chose Abraham or Moses for nothing; it was because they were humble men in spirit. And God didn’t just rejected Saul angrily and in haste, it was because he became arrogant as as soon as he was made the King – when you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the Lord anoint you king over Israel? 1 Samuel 15:17.

To be clothed and walk daily in humility will bring us abundance of grace for empowerment for every good works;  set us aside in a better position for greater glory and honour from the Lord. Everyone present at Martha’s house at Bethany, including Peter, James and John who were the Lord’s confidants, never come to understand Mary’s action to anoint the body of Christ against his burial, prompted by the Holy-Spirit, not strange to the Lord, who has ordained and expected this action from her from the eternity past, he knew what guided Mary, her intent and purpose. John 12; 7-8.

There is a diffrent between what is done through revelation (Galatians 2:2), and what is done by sentiment, or what is done by common sense as Mary did never acted on her gut feeling or idea. The Lord shall guide the meek in judgement as Mary was guided by revelation. There won’t be time for anyone to do this honour for Christ in his death before his resurrection from the dead; hence this pre-annointment of Mary was so crucial to God that he chose the spiritually broken hearted woman to be honoured for this particualr honourable task for him. Psalms 25:9.

Mary was given the grace and power to see afar off by God for her humbleness of heart, atachment and devotion to the Lord for her salvation. She was honoured before the whole gathering by the Lord, who rebuked those criticized her for her good works. Though, Judas by pretence, covetousness, stealing, greediness and hypocrisy sought to disqualify and nullify the steadfastness, devotedness and good works of Mary on Christ as wasteful and non-important: then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bear what was put therein. John 12:4-6.

God revives the spirit of the humble. Spiritual brokenness attract us to divine presence and approval, making us available for any immediate work and business of the King that may require haste: and Jesus said, let her alone; why trouble ye her? She hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whenever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. She hath done what she could: she is come a forehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, whereso ever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her – what a testimony, glory and honour bestowed upon Mary by the Lord! Mark 14:6-9.

Thank God that in Jesus that we are made to complete in him, which is the head of all principalities and powers. Thank God that Jesus did not leave us on our own without his abiding presence when he went back to heaven, but promised to be with us unto the end of the world. In addition to this, he sent the Holy Spirit which he also promised to dwell in us to help us to fight back to resist the enemy’s assaults and fiery darts in spiritual battles. Without these preparations of the Lord for our advantages, none Christian on earth have any idea of the full knowledge of Satan’s operations and intents, ignorant of the extent to which the adversary can deal against us which the Lord refers to as the depths of Satan to steal, kill and destroy: this is one the reason we should be sober, humble and watchful to the end. Revelation 2:24.

The humble in heart don’t presumed to precipitate or guess, rather, they wait on the Lord as long as it takes until being led by his spirit. Believers are exhorted to keep themselves in the love of God and in the patience waiting for Christ. Those who are keeping themselves in his love will not walk and think of themsleves more than what they ought to, but to think soberly according to the measure of faith given unto them. They will never presume, either by ignorance or arrogant spirit, like the Israelites did in the wilderness, when they presumed to fight the enemy, though they were warned by Moses not to do so; nonetheless, they went out to fight, but learnt the bitter lesson of humiliation and defeat, of not to do anything by presumptive spirit. Numbers14:40-45.

Spritual brokeness encounter differs. Peter had to deny Christ thrice on the same day before he was humbled never to lean on his own strenght or sure of himself for the things pertaining the Lord. The incident before the death of Christ taught Peter a great lesson on humility for constant dependent on the Lord sufficiency for our insufficiency. Had Peter not presumed, not too sure of himself to be deceived by his heart and fleshly mind that he can withstand the adversary without the Lord on his side, and without the grace of God for help in the time of need, he would not denied the Lord  he so much loved thrice. Afterward, he repented and wept bitterelly after his betrayal of Christ (spiritual brokenness) for the sudden and unexpected blows he got from the Devil: re-converted and restored by his repentance which reflected in his remorse for the pardon sought after and given by the Lord.

Every word spoken and instructions given by the Lord matters before him, lest the pride of heart deceived us to think and say that it’s just a insignificant instrcution, it doesn’t count much. Such is it when we are not humbled to believe and obey the Lord’s voice, even the little country like that Ai, of which the Israelis persuaded Joshua not to send many soldiers to engage in battle shall suprise us unaware and defeat us – if we don’t lay apart all superfluity of naughtiness, to receive the engrafted word of God with meekness, we cannot effectively withstand and resist the devil, but shall be overcome by every little or big problems and trials that shall come to try our faith and steadfastness in the promises of the scriptures given as the anchor for our souls. Joshua 7: 1-8. Hebrews 2:1-2.

Had Hazael not so much thought that he was sufficient in himself to will and do according to his own pleasure, he would not have taken God for a liar; but will humble himself before him to ask Prophet Elisha for the possibility to reverse and avert the negative revelations and prophetic utterances foretold of his barbaric future acts against the children of Israel when he shall come to reign as the king over Syria. He was so sure with a good opinion of himself, much better than he deserved as he though it impossible to do such things as foresees by Elisha, – is your servant a dog, that I should do such great thing? He asked Elisha!

But Hazael did exactly and worst than the prophecies which went out about him. When men are little and poor, they cannot tell or imagine how strong the temptations of power and prosperity are: and, if ever they arrive at them, they shall find out that the earth shall be disquieted and cannot bear a servant when he reigns, neither a fool, when he is filled with bread – And Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, the man of God is come hither. And the king said unto Hazael, take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, shall I recover of this disease? And Elisha said unto him, go, say unto him, thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die. And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept. And Hazael said, why weepeth my lord? And he answered, because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child. And Hazael said, but what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered; the Lord hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria. So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, what said Elisha to thee? And he answered, he told me that thou shouldest surely recover. And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead……Thus says the Lord, for three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron. But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad. I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord. 2 Kings 8: 7-15. Amos 1: 3-5. Proverbs 30:21-23.

All the graces from the fruit of the spirit, including humility and meekness can be obtained through personal prayer and dilligent walk, as well as to pray away the works of the flesh, through disciplined mind by grace.                                                                                                                                                    Pride is an evil spirit (image of Satan in man) which the defiles the whole body within and without, none that got defiles by it without purging, cleansing and deliverance from it by the blood of Jesus to live and walk in the spirit shall get to heaven – and he said, that which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:20-23.

Heaven should be our greatest goal and trophy, our driven force to humble in submission to the word, will and the purposes of God designed to re-mould and remake us to be partakers of his holiness. Though, we called the arrogant happy for the time been, yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered, but the meek and the humble shall inherit the future new heaven and earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of wealth – eternal riches. Psalms 37:11. Malachi 3:15.

Sometimes, difficult situations and circumstances, unloving and unreasonable people shall be allowed or sent from God to break our pride, to make us humble, meek with forbearance with longsuffering and joyfulness in the Spirit, to bring us into his eternal abode of the humble and the poor in the spirit: and now am I their song, yea, I am their byword. They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face. Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.  Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction. They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper. They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me. Job 30:9-14.

And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years. Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chastened his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; a land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; and thou say in thine heart, my power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:1-8.

Sometimes, you see Christian people manifesting great annointing and exercising great spiritual gifts; but then, you see them screwed up in words and characters like Moses, whose spirit was provoked by the Israelites to speak rubbishly against them before God or like Balaam, who taught doctrine of seduction based on moral depravity to cause sin and to make gain. We must strive to escape from the corruption in the world through lusts, be purged from all our inner corruptions, vain conversations and follies of the flesh, and of the world in holiness before God. Spiritual or ministerial gifts are not the proof of spiritual brokenness and maturity in a minister of the gospel or in an ordinary church member. The power and fruit of spiritual brokenness is found in the trials of faith which are joyfully endured, when you fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:3-4.

Spirtual brokenness empowers us in the fruit of patience, to wait continually on God until he show up, freed from any restlessness or anxiety and unbelief against the faithfulness of God: take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. James 5:10-11.

A sincere humble man in spirit will have power with God to tuen things around at due time from God – humble yourself undeer the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due course. Even though, the King Ahab pretentiously humbled himself before God as soon as learnt of his judgement of the punishment of his coveteousness of Naboth’s vineyard, whom he killed by Jezebel’s counsel to possess the poor man’s vineyard: but the Lord judiciously transferred the punishments of his iniquity on his son’s days, having seen his humility demonstrated through remorse (1 Kings 21): yet; the avenger of blood caught up with him when he arrogantly defie prophetic warnings from the Lord not to go to war against the Syrians; but disguised himself to the battle at Ramoth-gilead, to play wisdom and smartness against the only wise God and his unfailing word, thus he paid with his life according to the word of God spoken by Elijah the prophet from the wounds of the arrow shot by a certain man at venture against him in the battle; and one washed the king’s chariot in the pool of Samaria: and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according to the word of the Lord which he spake. 1 Kings 22:38.
