Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me. Psalms 60:4-5.
As soon as Satan lost his battle in heaven in his quest to take the throne of God and to become like or as God, he was cast down to the earth with his angels with him (Revelation 12:7-8): his next evil move and ambition was to fight against the interests of God in man – to turn man against God – to make him the enemy of his loving and caring God, just as he has made himself loathsome before God in heaven by his pride. Though Satan failed in his attempt to overthrow the throne of God to take the place of the Most High in heaven (Isaiah 14:12-14), but he was able to overthrow the man which was made after the image and likeness of God from his position of dominion and authority on earth through the pretence of friendship, lies, deception and manipulation: thus man sold himself out to Satan by his own iniquity to become a lawful captive (Isaiah 49:26), sons and daughters of Satan and of perdition, while his soul, and his spiritual and eternal destiny are now in captivity as a slave of sin, hanging in the balancing between second death (everlasting punishment of fire) or everlasting life through Christ death and atonement:  he that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sin from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8.
The enemy’s false and delusional idea was, okay, if I can’t overthrow God to take his throne and to rule in heaven, I can take man’s place on earth to rule over him, thus he succeeds to become the interim prince and god of this world (John 12:31. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4) to set up the long hatred and continual battle for the lost and dead spiritual soul of man (Genesis 2:17) ) between the woman and the serpent, between her seed and his seed, awaiting the fulfillment of the vengeance promised by God against him from the Garden that the seed of the woman shall come to deliver man’s spiritual and eternal destiny from his lawful bondage and captivity to save his soul by bruising the head of the serpent – the enemy is now on the lookout for the seed of the woman that he migh destroy her child as soon as it was born. Revelation 12:5.  
In one of the hot and intense discourse between our Lord Jesus with his religious Jewish brethren – he came unto his own, but they received him not, Christ made a very strong rebuke and picture of them in comparison and identification of them with Satan (you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God hears God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. John 8:44-47) because of their contrary walk, lifestyles, wickedness and other characters which testified against their professed religion and spiritual paternity with the God of Abraham. In the defense of truth, we see the straight talk and fearlessness of the uncompromising Christ – the eternal word and truth personified – the word that was made flesh, the only begotten and beloved Son of the Father (I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus says unto them, if ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. John 8:37-40), full of truth and grace from the bosom of his Father, and has come down to the earth, to declare and to make him known. John 1:18.
Our Lord, by speaking against the hypocrisy of his Jewish brethren (he that speaks truth shows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. Proverbs 12:17), he also reveal the personality, character, works and the nature of Satan which has resemblances and similarities to their lifestyles, behaviors and characters. Note: as the early or the primitive believers were not first called as Christians at Antioch because they have been with Christ which is the first step to walk with him in order to learn of him who was meek and lowly in heart, but because they demonstrates the resemblances and similarities of Christ through their new birth and divine nature of a transformed behaviors and characters of the resurrected Christ by the fruit of the spirit which is in all goodness and righteousness and truth: so shall none be called, approved or be acceptable before God and man as a true child of God if the effectiveness of the transforming power of truth could not be found in such (for this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually works also in you that believe.1 Thessalonians 2:13 ) as long as their walk and other lifestyle betrays their confession and identification with Christ.
Christ spoke of the lustfulness of Satan, his killer instinct as a murderer and his skilful ability to lie undetected to those who are ignorance of the scriptures, ignorance of his devices and among those who are hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Is this not true by the war he triggered in heaven as the result of his lust and desire for the throne of God? To make matter worst, he sought to become as God – ‘I will be like the Most High’ but was sent out to earth, away from of the holy mountain of God. Is it not a big lie to think and talk- less of seeking after to be made equal with God? To whom shall he be likened or compared or be made equal with? After similar pattern of false and selfish ambition which failed and debased Satan in heaven to be expelled and was made to lose his position, occupation and honor, in the same delusional expectation of grandeur he wickedly stirred up the man of the earth (1 Corinthians 15:47) against the God of heaven and earth to contaminate and infect Adam and Eve with the same lustful thoughts, ambition, ideas, expectations in an attempt to make them to become like God – you shall be like God, knowing good and evil – you shall not die – your eyes shall be opened – but with the intent to deceive, harm, enslave and kill them. Satan is filled with divers lust, whatever lust is found in us, it is not from God, neither of him, but from the corrupt body of sin (dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.1 Peter 2:11), the world, and of the devil. 1 John 2:15-17. 1 Peter 4:1-6. Note: every ungodly and unholy desire (from whence come wars and fighting among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? You lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. You ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James 4:1-3), including those good things that are wrongly timed and forcibly acquired by iniquity a-head of divine time are lustful (but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul. Psalms 106:14-15) which shall not do any good to our soul: let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. James 1:13-15:
Truth was lost right from the Garden of Eden as it is evidently not found in our lives (the wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Psalms 38:3), homes, cities and streets today (yea, truth fails; and he that departs from evil makes himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. Isaiah 59:14) for (a) worldly wisdom of man which is foolishness before God: (b) truth lost in pursuit of self discovery, futility and emptiness of the vanities of life, instead of God’s pursuit after the whole duty of man on earth to keep his commandments: (c) truth lost for the deception of equality with God and independent from him as promised by Satan, but without him, in whom we live, move and have our being, we can do but nothing.
Satan will do anything to prevent the truth coming back on earth, and will go to any length as much as possible to suppress it in the earth: thus were king Herod and his death squad soldiers used as instruments of destruction by the sworn adversary of man to fulfill the prophecy of Jeremiah the prophet (thus says the Lord; a voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. Thus says the Lord; refrain thy voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, says the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy. Jeremiah 31:15-16) concerning the event of the innocent infants blood- shed pre-emptive attack against the two years old children down to the newly born children of that fateful day in an effort to track down and to kill the seed of the woman (Christ born in Bethlehem) who was earlier promised by God in the Garden while the judgment was given that he should come to bruise the head of the serpent for his condemnation and death for the transgression and fall of man he orchestrated Matthew 2:1-18.
Christ was purposely born to bear witness to the truth and to restore truth back on earth (Pilate therefore said unto him, art thou a king then? Jesus answered; thou say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause I came into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. John 18:37), but exclusively in those who shall receive the word of truth, the gospel of their salvation which was delivered to save them though the new birth (John 3:3-7) by the renewing of the Holy Spirit (in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14) which he shed abundantly on us in Christ, the only mediator between God and men, who gave himself as a ransom for us to be testified in due time (2 Timothy 2:5-6), lest any among us (he that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:10-13) should by any means observe lying vanities of false religious beliefs and traditions of men, should fall away from the simplicity which is Christ Jesus: and by so doing forsake our own mercies against eternal life (Jonas 2:8), but that in Christ and through him who has come to retrieve the truth lost, and to rescue us from the lies from the pit of hell, following behind his majesty, and being cover with his glory and blood ( who is she that looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? Songs of Solomon 6:10), we may all ride prosperously together and reign together in life with him on earth because of truth and meekness and righteousness. Psalms 45:4. Romans 5:17.
It is obvious that the devil would not let go his captives of Adam race without fierce spiritual fight. From the beginning of Christ birth throughout his earthly ministry to the cross where he cried it is finished – in the grave where Jesus took the keys of the prison door from the devil’s hand until the resurrection day and hour where our Lord boldly declares that all powers (then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. John 7:30) in heaven and on earth has been given unto me has Satan been fighting against the truth, but the truth prevailed and spoilt the principalities and powers, made a show of them openly on the cross, triumphing over them in it just as God determined in the judgment: though the devil is now engage in a long and continuous war against the truth (be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8), and hold in his hand the souls of unsaved men and women through the ministry and lifestyles of the false teachers, false prophets and pastors (but there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who cleverly shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 2 Peter 2:1-2): he is fighting continuously against the remnant of the seed of the woman – the individual believer which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:7-17): this is the righteous and holy nation which keep the truth, and they shall continue in it (Jesus says to the Jews which believed in him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, we be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how do you say, ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abides not in the house for ever: but the Son abides ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:31-36), they will lay hold on it, even unto death – in that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; we have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open you the gates that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. Isaiah 26:1-2.
Let all of us see to it that we are establish in the everlasting and present truth (2 Peter 1:12), that we may have the testimony of truth itself by our righteous, holy and uncompromising walk (2 John 1:12) because the eyes of God are on the truth. Jeremiah 5:3. His eyes are on those who speak and live by it (the elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth: for the truth’s sake, this dwells in us, and shall be with us forever. Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 2 John 1:1-4) and defend it to support and strengthens others who also have the banner to display because of truth (3 John 1:7’8): but his wrath is revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:18-32.
If our local assembly of saints is not the city of truth where the undiluted word of God is preached in sound doctrine of godliness, for reproof, for correction, and for instructions in righteousness (thus says the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain. Zachariah 8:3), then is such gathering not unto the God of truth without iniquity, and such should not be considered as the true church of the living God, the pillar and ground of truth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. 1Timothy 3:15.
None, though they are saved and called into the ministry shall be approved by God, if they have not study thoroughly to make themselves approve unto God as a workman that is not ashamed like the fearless – uncompromising Christ, but are rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15), but shall be condemned and destroyed as teachers of lies for handling the word of God with craftiness in the deceitfulness of spirit (therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Isaiah 9:14-16. 2 Corinthians 4:2) to mislead the souls of men. None, though they be in Christ Jesus, shall possess their soul to the end if they are itching ears believer, and will not endure sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:1-4), and if they are ever leaning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (2 Timothy 3:7), thus they have failed to acknowledge the faith of God’s elects according to the truth which is after godliness (Titus 1:1), that as the truth is in Christ Jesus, they should put away concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to its deceitful lusts, and to put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:21. None shall win the battle for their soul against the principalities and powers (stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth. Ephesians 6:14), or able to resist and triumph over Satan (and when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God – his truth shall be your shield and buckler. Mathew 4:3-4. Psalms 91:4) without the absolute truth till the end – thou art near, O Lord; and all thy commandments are truth. Psalms 119:151. None shall be made cleansed and ready for heaven (and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-13) except by the sanctification of the Spirit in daily practical obedience to the truth (1 John 2:4) to the end: sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. John 17:17. Note: God has sent you light and the truth through Christ (o send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Psalms 43:3), what have you done with them? Are you keeping yourself in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life? Jude 1:21. You can’t keep yourself in the love of God if you won’t keep the truth, just as Adam failed to keep himself in the word of God and was touched by the wicked one – Satan – whosoever is born of God keeps himself from sin – in the truth, and the wicked one touches him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world is in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.1 John 5:18. Are you full of light and truth? Is the light in you darkness? Satan is a failed entity. He failed in heaven and has failed on earth, bound to lose throughout all eternity – a failure is a looser, so likewise is anyone who follows the paths of the destroyer (concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. Psalms 17:4-5) but will not seek the word of truth (run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executes judgment, that seeks the truth; and I will pardon it. Jeremiah 5:1) to obey, walk in the paths therein, to speak and to defend it, this is to know God (Malachi 2:6-7): by mercy and truth, iniquity is purged, and by the fear of God, men depart from evil. Proverbs 16:6.
