The grace of God in truth. Nimes 03 – 06 – 2021.

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,  since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;  which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and brings forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth. Colossians 1:3-6.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. 1 Peter 5:12.
From the scripture, we know that God is the God of truth without iniquity (Deu.32:4) as well as the God of all grace (1 Pet. 5:10), which implies that we need the plenitude of grace and truth as the two inseparable (and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14) combinations of divine provisions to overcome sin. While the revelations of truth release the power that breaks the yoke of sin (they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in thy truth, thy word is truth. John 17:16-17), the God who quickens the dead, quickens the mortal man in Christ Jesus through the spirit of grace and strengthen him with might (Eph. 3:16) in the inner man to walk and to serve him, not in the oldness of the letter, but in newness of the spirit (Rom. 7:6) both to will and do according to his will. Grace will always be present – God is the grace (Exodus 33:13-17), he lives in his children, they are his temple, but will the recipient of grace look within him by faith to receive the strength of faith in his weakness to obey at all times – as you always obey, keep obeying? Phil. 2:12. May God give us understanding, that we may keep his law, yea, to observe it with all our heart, even as the priest – Zachariah of old and his wife were both righteous before God, walking blameless in all commandments! Psalms 119:39. Luke 1:16.
God will ever be the God of all grace and the God of truth without iniquity to man as he has ever been from eternity before the creation of man. For among all the creations of God in heaven and on earth, under the earth and in the sea, man was exceptionally made after the image and in the likeness of God, which is to say that the grace of God purposely brought man into existence to live and to have dominion over all things that were made. The first man had the grace and truth (God’s word) given to him in the Garden, but he chose not to understand the importance of the instruction delivered unto him, thus he fell out of grace and died – understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. Prov. 16:22. Note: God loves the truth, if we have found grace before God, let us be amiable and agreeable to him by keeping to the truth, so that we might retain the honor of the grace bestowed upon us. We are his true friends, if we do whatsoever, he commands us to do. Good understanding brings favor, but the way of sinner is hard. Prov. 13:15.
From the first text before us, Apostle Paul, in verses 2, speaks of the blessed hope which is laid for the Colossians brethren in heaven, whereof they have heard before in the word of truth of the gospel by the visible fruit of testimonies their application of the truth is producing, not only, but also in all those that have heard and seen their walk and life in the Lord as an example of the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, awaiting to receive eternal blessing from God. Heb. 6:7.
Note: if by favor, we received what we don’t deserve, let us by our thoughtfulness, appreciate and preserve what is given, lest we be seen as a dog in the possession of an holy things, or a swine with pearls in his possession who does not know the worth and value of the precious gifts like Adam will seek to put the blame on God for giving him a wife as the stumbling block of his sin (Gen. 3:12), and Saul will seek not to implicate the people in his fall to excuse his failed responsibility before God. 1 Sam.15:24.
The rebellious and self-willed against the truth like Adam and Eve (open you the gates that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. Isaiah 26:2) don’t understand the concept of grace as a privilege given, but could be lost if it’s not well used for increasing opportunities (for thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore, shall thou not exalt them. Job 17:4): true grace is multiplied and is certain to increase if we are practically making use of what we presently received, learnt and known: for unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. Mt. 25: 29. 2 Pet. 2:1.
The recipients of God’s true grace will strive to enter into eternal life through the narrow way and straight gate: though this road is demanding, it’s self-sacrificial and it’s self-abandoning (Mt. 7:13-14): nonetheless, because they have received grace to serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear (Heb.12:28), they are not moved by any of those things which they shall suffer or loss as they momentary receive the comfort of the Spirit and the enablement power of the sufficiency of the grace of God upon them. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work (2 Thess. 2:16-17), but not all the hope or wishes of every believers in Christ Jesus with hope to enter heaven shall be granted (Mt.7:21-23): there is a good hope and there is a bad or false hope of heaven as the result of the lifestyle contrary to the grace of God in truth – walking as it becomes the gospel of Christ – this is the true grace of God wherein you can stand (Philippians 1:27): I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 2 John 1:4.
The manifestations of the performance grace of God through different operations of the Holy Spirit in the church or in the life of a believer to function in God’s kingdom through different ministry, offices, gifts and administrations (as every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Cor. 12:7-11. 1 Pet. 4:10), gives no certain guarantee from God to take anyone to heaven if they are not standing in the true grace of faithfulness to the word, God and their brethren as it is expected of a steward to be faithful by walk in the principles and nature of the true grace of God. 1 Cor.9:27.
Those who have received the grace of God in truth are they who are practically living by the truth – the book as it is written, unapologetic speaking the truth in love to defend it, we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth ( 2Cor.13:8): they will not strive against the truth (2 Tim. 4:3), nor wrestle against the gospel of truth to their own destruction (2 Pet. 3:16), but they will do anything for the furtherance of the truth of the gospel because they are firmly established in the true grace of God (be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Heb. 13:9): their foundation is sure as wise builder building on the rock for the good hope through faith which God will not disappoint, nullify, nor reject which is laid up for them in heaven.
The steadfast brethren in the word of God do always have abounding grace  (2 Cor.13:14) as they have not turned away from the grace of salvation in Christ unto any of the beggarly elements to frustrate the grace (Gal. 2:21): nor have they fallen from it by seeking for their justification by the law, apart from the atonement work of Christ through grace to live and walk by faith of Christ (Gal.5:4): nor have they for once shown themselves to have received the grace in vain (2 Cor.6:1), neither have they turned the grace of our Lord Jesus unto lasciviousness – free shameless lifestyles (Jude 1:4): let us be wary of the flattering and fair speeches of licentious doctrines of those false- superfluous grace preachers without the elements of truth or truthfulness to rightly divide the word of truth for the fruit of righteousness – the fruit worthy of repentance that God demands and expects from every recipients of the true grace, lest any man or woman should think that Christ is the minister of sin (but if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. Gal. 2:17) or lest they should be hardened by the hardness of their heart through the deceitfulness of sin (Heb. 3:13) that they have grace to live or hold the truth in unrighteousness (Rom 1:18), whereby heaping wrath upon themselves against the day of the righteous judgment of God. Rom. 2:1-5.
Depends on the occasion or situation by which it’s been applied, grace has different meaning from the scriptures such as favor (Gen. 32:5), help (Heb.4:16), divine opportunity (Ezra 9:8. 2 Cor. 8:19), divine beauty (Prov.1:9) divine help (Jer. 31.2), careful ordering or uttering your words wisely (Pro. 22:11), privilege (Acts 14:26. Rom 5:2), acceptance (Acts15:14), divine ability and gifts of the operation of the Spirit of God (Rom. 1:5. Rom. 12:6. 1 Cor. 15:10), divine choice (Rom. 11:5-6), power to overcome sin (Rom.6:14), position of responsibility (Rom.12:3), sincerity (2 Cor. 1:2), responsibility (2 Cor.8:6), God’s attraction of glory upon your life (2 Cor.9:14. Gal. 2:9), fellowship (Gal.1.6), mission (2 Tim.1: 9), (demand of God to fulfill an expectation. 1 Cor.15:10): above all, grace is absolutely God’s sovereign power to exercise; for he says, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy. Rom. 9:15.
Note: diligent continuation in the word and teachings of Christ brings new and deeper discovery of his truth: whosoever hear and do (Mark. 4:25), more shall be given unto him that he might know more, able to testify to the power of God that truth sanctifies and set them free – if you continue in my word, then you shall you shall be my disciples indeed: you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:34-36.
Though, there are different facets or dimension of grace, but they could all be found in the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus came into the world full of grace and truth, and of the fullness of that truth – of the increasing knowledge of the truth (Christ is the truth. John 14:6), we do receive increasing grace for grace, so that we might grow or increase in grace as we grow in the practical knowledge of truth which is in our Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:16.
Christ, while on earth depends on daily early morning prayers before the cock crow to receive grace and found help from the Father. He operated under the available grace (s) to accomplish all of God’s works and will as the Son of man earth on whose lips grace was poured (thou art fairer than the children of men: grace – power for acceptable words is poured into thy lips: therefore, God hath blessed thee forever. Psalms 45:2) to speak those mighty and gracious word as an unlearned carpenter’s son who sorely depended on the grace of God to speak what he hears and been taught by God (Luke 4:22) until he finally, by the same grace of God, tasted death for all men. Heb. 2:9.
There are different kinds and levels of grace – grace abounds – God gives grace to the lowly, lest any be confused to generalize the grace (s) of God to their own detriment –loss. None of us is saved by any worth or merits of human backgrounds or quality whatsoever, for all have sinned: but by grace we are saved through faith, and that not of us, it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2.8-10. This is the grace of salvation grace in the goodness and mercy of God that leads sinners into repentance of life from dead works (Rom. 2:4): to remind us not to be high-minded, but to fear God to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments for our continuation in his grace. Rom.11:21-22.
The problem of indwelling sin in a believer in Christ Jesus is as the result of his refusal to walk in the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God as he stumbles in the word of God and falls repeatedly into sin in the world – your word is light unto my paths, and lamp unto my feet. Psa. 119:105. This is the reason we are given the reparatory text (this then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:5-10) to renew our fellowship with God in order to grow and to walk better in the light, lest darkness should come upon us if we should continue to live like a dog going back over and over again to his vomited dirt, or, like the pig washed, to her wallowing in the mire.
How long shall we continue to learn, but never able to come to the knowledge of truth? How long should we continue to live in sin in Christ Jesus before we are given over to reprobate mind, or Christ should remove the candlestick from its place? How long should the owner of the vineyard keep waiting in expectation of fruit of righteousness before he gives final order to the servant to cut off the unfruitful branch from his vine? When once should it take before we make up the mind to lay aside every weight and the sin which doth easily beset us (Heb. 12:1) and to start perfecting holiness in the fear of God as they who are called to be saints (2 Cor. 7:1) before we are seems to be as they that are walking over the blood of Jesus under their feet, and are counting the blood of the covenant that sanctify them as an unholy thing to despite the spirit of grace? Heb. 10:26-29.
Wrong understanding of its principles, and misconception of the application of the grace of God (Gal. 1:6) apart from this solemn truth comes from the pit of hell – another gospel of another Jesus of another spirit coming out from the servants of Satan who are parading themselves as the ministers of Christ, whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Cor. 11:4.
Our election to eternal salvation and final selection to be counted worthy is through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth (2 Thess. 2:12): this is obedience in yielding our members which are upon the earth as instruments of righteousness unto the fruit of holiness, while awaiting the harvest of eternal life (but now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Rom.6:19-22): it is not possible to separate the true grace of God away from the freedom from indwelling sin which God has condemned in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Rom. 8:4): he that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. 1 John 3:8-10.
There is another grace (power) of impenetrable resistance against evil or not being overcome by negative situations made available for every child of God. Rom. 8:35-39. This particular grace also empowers the saints to bear and to endure different seasons and chastening of God to prune them for increasing fruitfulness, re-mould by God, re-make by him, and reshaping them by his word and through those things he allows them to go through (and lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Cor.12:7-10) for corrections and trainings which the bastards, who are the recipients of false grace cannot tolerate or allow him work in them and to have his way in their lives, lest they should be partakers of his holiness, but by so doing, they’ll miss heaven for sure – without holiness, no man shall see God: you have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children, my son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, or faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives.  If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits and live? Heb. 12: 4-9.
The purpose for which we are presently saved by grace is to prepare us for the future redemptive grace of our body (for we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom.8:22-23) as we must by grace go through the transformation walk in Christ Jesus (for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb. 2:14-16) before we receive the glorification grace when we shall all be changed, both the living saints and those who are asleep in him (that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Eph 2:5): for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Rom. 8:29.
This is the true grace of God that brings salvation, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:12-14.
The present conformity of the brethren to the image of Christ which is spoken of here is their walk in the new creature or newness of life (if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all is new: and they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 2 Cor. 5:17: Gal. 5:24): for if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection provided we are presently sowing to the spirit, and not to the works of the flesh (Gal 6. 7-8): knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Rom. 6:5-7.
Believer’s conformity to the world is the betrayal of his Christ in the world (brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. For many walks, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. Philippians 3:17-19): none seems to be conformed to his Lord’s death or image who are refusing to come out of the world in sanctification and holiness unto God – glorifying God in his body and spirit which are God’s: wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp (come out of the worlds standard and principles of political correctness, mentality, gainsaying, mode of life or lifestyles, music, worldly leisure amusements etc.) bearing his reproach. Heb. 13:12-13.
