Believer’s sentence of death. Nimes 14 -5 – 21.

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead: who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us. 2 Corinthians 1:8-10.
….and Saul eyed David from that day and forward – David must die. 1 Samuel 18:6-11.
Note: Just as the nations and women of Israeli sang to celebrate David’s victory at the defeat and death of Goliath of Gath at the gate of the city, and King Saul was bitter, sad and envious, and from that day forward, he eyed David and determined in his heart to kill him before he get to the throne, for what could he possibly have more than the throne of Israel as king, even so we that are in Christ Jesus, as soon the angels of God in heaven start to celebrate and rejoicing in heaven that we are saved and washed by the blood of the Lamb with our names written in the book of life in haven, the devil is filled with a very strong rage and hatred with determination to kill us by whatever means, ever before we get to heaven or ever we fulfill the full length of our days on earth: but as it written, even so shall it be, that the righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; to show that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. Psalms 92:12-15.
Until the time God allot and appoint to Satan elapse (for he knows that he has but a very short time) his unapologetic slogan and constant public advertisement concerning the believers in Christ Jesus is ‘wanted by Satan, dead or alive – believers in Christ Jesus must die’. Is it not written that for thy sake’s we are killed all day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter? Rom. 8:36. Is it not written in another place that they loved not their lives unto death? Rev.12:11b.
Therefore, let none of the faithful brethren who is indeed crucified with Christ, crucified to the world and the world is crucified to them (Gal. 6:14), dead to the flesh and sin or the lusts thereof through the indwelling Spirit of God (Rom. 8:13), having crucified the flesh with its lusts and affections thereof (Galatians 5:24), need to worry about any of the credible threats of Satan’s sentence of death on (be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Pet. 5:8) them because they always bear about in their body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in them.  For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4:10-11. What other threat of death could Satan possibly present against the saints to aggress, terrify or harass them that will not possibly end up as their gain and profit? For these are they who are walking daily by faith, and not by sight, and they are willing to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. These are they of whom the world is not worthy, and they earnestly desire a better country, that is, a heavenly, and God was not ashamed to be called their God: for he has prepared for them a city.
Whatsoever is done to the fig tree, we should know assuredly that it shall be done on the dry. If the devil has once put a bounty on Christ head as the seed of the woman when he sought to kill him through Herod when he was newly born (Mt. 2:13): (b) moreover, because of truth spoken, he again sought to kill him by the angry mob, when they rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. But he passing through the midst of them went his way (Luke. 4: 28-30): (c) and when the Jewish people sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come (John 7:30), but was finally betrayed as the Son of man (then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, and said unto them, what will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time, he sought opportunity to betray him. Mt. 26:14-16) depart, as it was written of him: let it be also known that there is a bounty for spiritual assassination put on believer’s head at the very moment he confesses to accept Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and to follow him.
In Satan’s war against the present and future saints of Christ is his unrighteous sentence and pursuit of death against them: he will devise whatever means such as tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, death by sword or stone to death or death by whatever means to get rid of them that troubles the earth with the light and truth of Christ, he will also use love of money as weapons to kill the faith of some, the false worship of angels, the threats of principalities and powers, the threats of things present, things to come, height, depth, and any other weapons to separate them from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Be it a spiritual death (but she living in self-indulgence is dead while living. I Tim. 5:6) or physical untimely death by the hand of them that can kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul (and she went forth, and said unto her mother, what shall I ask? And she said the head of John the Baptist. And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist. Mark 6:24-25), the enemy is always seeking for death penalty against the believer, just as it doesn’t matter how the capital punishment of a condemned criminal is executed in the world justice system – death by hanging, death by firing squad, or death by lethal injection, though he fully knows that a believer is presently passed from death unto life, and will not come into condemnation as the result of his faith in Christ Jesus (John 5:24), but as an unsatisfied prosecutor, who will appeal against the verdict of the judge in favor of the accused, trying to seek for jail or death sentence, so is Satan waging continual war against the remnant of the seed of the woman, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17.
The enemy, not only has he pronounced his death sentence on the believer’s existence, just like the evil King Ahab and Jezebel sought for Elijah to kill him (as the Lord thy God lives, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord has not sent to seek thee: and when they said, he is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not. 1 Sam. 18:10), for he says within himself, if I don’t give his dead body to be meat unto the fowls of heaven and his flesh to the beasts of the earth, I won’t rest (Psalms 79:2), so likewise is Satan at work to kill your ‘joy and peace in God’ which he know is the essence of the kingdom of God within you – to kill your ‘personal bible study and  prayer life which he know that it’s for your personal spiritual growth and acquaintance of God’ – to isolate you from the company of the good and faithful brethren in the Lord (love the brotherhood), so that he can be able to  kill your ‘fellowship with the brethren which he knows that it’s for your spiritual safety and edification’ – to kill the good attitude of ‘as you have always obey, not only in my presence only, but much more in my absence’ to keep working out your own salvation with fear and trembling in your resolve to be ‘obedient in all things’: for the devil assuredly realize that any act of disobedient in the word of God is the seed of unrighteousness unto death, if not repented and corrected, it will culminates unto the harvest of death as we continue in the hardness of heart through deceitfulness of sin to ruin the sure and steadfast foundation that we only need to keep building upon and to grow progressively in sanctification and holiness (2 Timothy 2:19 b), not by laying over again and again the foundation from dead works by despising the word of God (Hebrews 6:1), lest any should die prematurely with the uncircumcised Philistines, such as Samson shamefully died (the wise shall inherit glory, shame is the promotion of fools. Prov. 3:35): whosoever break the wall, the serpent shall bite him (Ecclesiastes 8:5): now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso finds me finds life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord. But he that sins against me wrongs his own soul: all they that hate me love death. Prov. 8:32-38.
Can you identify the agent or instrument of the enemy’s bounty upon your life? Jesus was able to recognize and identify the agent and carrier of the bounty of the enemy placed upon his head to expose him (Judas Iscariot) before his disciples. How could Samson not able to identify the agent and carrier of the bounty the enemy placed upon his head? How has he hated instruction to forsake the covenant of his God, only to find himself in such evil?
As dying, and behold we live, as chastised, but not killed (2 Corinthians 6:9), but Samson soul was vexed unto death as the result of the pressure of the repeated death verdict of Satan upon his life through Delilah until he spills out the beans. Judges 16:16. Though, Samson have killed more Philistines in his death than in his life time, had he obeyed the voice of God, and had kept to the covenant between them, he could have killed many more twice told of the Philistines far beyond the numbers he killed in his death until the haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him, and his days should have been long (Psalms 81:15): for we shall not die but to live, and to declare the works of God. Psalms 118:17.
Was Satan not a murderer from the beginning and never abides in the truth, because there is no truth in him? John 8:44. If he succeeds to make you to believe a lie, with your itching ears, not able to hear, bear and to continue in the sound and pure doctrine (2 Thess. 2:10-13) to hold the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18-32), this is but to bring you back into darkness and damnation of your soul, even as he once did to the first parents in the Garden, whom he destroyed from their state of spiritual life into the state of spiritual death, to alienate them from the life of God. Is the sentence of death from Satan not at work in you, if you do not continue in the application of the word of truth which is life and spirit (John 6:63-69), so that you should know the truth indeed in your daily life experiences as to set you free from sin (John 8:32-36), and to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God’s word (2 Pet. 3:18) in the continuation in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel which is laid before you in heaven? Colossians 1:23.
Or, if Satan is able to make you a person of spiritual character of mis improvement of grace of the self-justified hypocrite Christian of Sardis church who are not really what they appeared to be, though they had a name to live, but they were dead (Revelation 3:1-2): dead prayer life (Hosea 7:14), whose joy is withered in the Lord (Psalms 100:2. Rom. 14:17), and  dead in evangelism and soul wining (John 15:6), but are lively, not for the love of fellowship with the Spirit of God (Colossians 1:8), but of enticement to the lusts of the world from which they were saved by Christ (Gal. 1:4): though not completely departed from Christ as Demas openly did for the love of the world then (2 Timothy 4:10), nevertheless, they are spotted with the world in its conformity to the mentality, customs and practices with other compromises which is all that Satan is after, that he might defiled their religion and make them unfit for heaven (James 1:27), but Christ warned them to be watchful, and to strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: having not found their works perfect before God. 1 John 2:15-17. James 4:4. Romans 12:1-2.
Christianity is not like the Muslim’s jihadist’s belief and ideology of a suicide bomber that you’ll earn a place in paradise if you should kill yourself or kill someone else for the cause of a false god. God is the source, giver, sustenance and taker of life (Acts 17:28): he has the power to kill, and power to make alive. A believer who commits suicide while trying to escape from the trials and difficulty of the way of the cross in Christ Jesus is guilty of the crime of self-murder, having obeyed and allowed the whispering evil voice of death from the thief – devil who has come to steal, kill and to destroy as the solution to separate him from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 10:10.
As a submissive child who is suffering according to the will of God should commit the keeping of his soul unto him in well doing as unto a faithful creator (1 Pet. 4:19), heavenly Father sorely determines how long we have left to live on earth (Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am. Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Psalms 39:4-5) and when to take us home: for none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. Rom. 14:7-8.
Though, Satan’s unrighteous decree of death sentence is on every believer’s life, he cannot go as far as to what is not determined or permitted by God concerning any believer if they are keeping themselves in the love of God and in the patient waiting for Christ (Job 2:6): we know that whosoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. 1 John 5:18-21.
By spiritual legality, the sentence and power of death is taken away from Satan over the life of a believer who is now a new creature in Christ Jesus, not born of the flesh, neither by the will of man, nor by flesh and blood, but by the will of God (John 1:12-13. 2 Cor. 5:17) because Christ likewise took upon himself the nature of flesh and blood to destroy the devil who once had the power of death, that he might deliver the believer from the grip or fear of death (Heb. 2:14-15): but technically, Satan is arbitrary killing and destroying sinful men and women in the world, even as the serpent will bite anyone in the church that will break the wall of divine protection around them (Eccles. 10:8) in his acting capacity as the tempter, prosecutor and executioner of spiritual jungle justice: there were present at that season some that told him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:1-5.
In Christ Jesus, we are now delivered from the power and sentence of death brought upon us by Satan through the sin of Adam and Eve (Christ has abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 2 Tim. 1:10): yet, the devil refused to accept the verdict of his defeat handed over to him from the cross to the grave, and from the grave to the resurrection day of him that is alive, and was died, and is alive forever more, having taken back the keys of hell and of death from him that once have them in his possession, that is, the devil. Rev. 1:18.
We had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raised the dead…and the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back; my soul shall have no pleasure in him: but we are not of them that draw back unto perdition, but of them that believe, even to the saving of soul…therefore, let us cleave unto God with all the heart, soul and mind, trusting that he who has the began the good works in us, shall finish it until the day of Christ. Was David not delivered by God from King Saul threats and pursuits to kill him? Was Peter was not delivered from the death sentence of King Herod, even from the expectations of the Jews who are waiting for his demise?  Who is it that speaks and it’s done or comes to pass when God has not spoken it? No one can kill us as long as God is not yet done with us, for he that is our God is the God of salvation, and unto him belongs the issues of death. Psalms 68:20.
And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness, and remained in the mountains in the Wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand. So, David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. And David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a forest. 1 Samuel 23:14-18. King Saul’s hatred, envy and his hot pursuits to execute death sentence on David’s, whose salvation and hope was in his God (in the Lord put I my trust: how say you to my soul, flee as a bird to your mountain. Psalms 11:1) depict the true hatred, envy and hot pursuits of Satan death sentence to unjustly execute against us in Christ Jesus because we are fighting the battles of our God, but even when we are chased by those who seek our lives, we are safe in the care of the Lord our God, just as though we were safe inside his purse. But the lives of our enemies shall disappear like stones from a sling. 1 Samuel 25: 28-29. TLB.
As believers in Christ Jesus, all the hairs on our head are all numbered, therefore, death should not be feared. Is not the Lord leading us in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake? Though in the paths of righteousness, we must walk through the valley of the shadow of death, let us fear no evil: in the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death (Prov.12:28), but just the shadow – the threats of the enemy’s vain sentence of death.
Thousands shall fall at your right hand and ten thousand at your left, but they shall not come near unto you, because you have made the Lord your refuge, even the most high your habitation…this is a powerful promise of testimony of trust and confidence in the Lord which triumph over any threat we might be receiving from the devil. The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, but he knows those that put their trust in him. Nahum 1:7. Do you put your trust in God? Did the Lord recognize you as one having your trust in him? Are you showing the attitudes of faith of them that put their trust in him? Are you also speaking the language and words of those that put their trust in him? Are you willing to die that you might experience his very present help in the time of trouble like Daniel and others in the land of Babylon? Do you have the boldness to demonstrate or display the confidence of them that put their trust in him like Ezra once did? Do you have the testimony of the rejoicing and boasting of the souls of them that put their trust in him? Have you entered into the rest, even the present rest which remains for the people that put their trust in God? Do you have that perfect peace of which the Lord shall keep them whose mind has stayed on him, because they trusted in him? The Lord has chastened me sore, but he has not given me over unto death (Psalms 118:18), art you not from everlasting, O Lord my God, mine Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction. Habakkuk 1:12.
