Christ interrogates his disciples on their views and of many other people about him: about his person or individual by asking, whom do people say I, the Son of man is? After many different answers, Peter, by the revelation of the Spirit of God finally declared Christ as the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Christ is the Son of God, given to become the Son of man in exchange for the sins of the sons of men. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Matthew16:13-20.  Christ is entitled to become the SON OF MAN the moment he was introduced in the Garden as the seed of the woman who is prepared and destined to bruise the head of the serpent. But he has to partake in the nature of man (flesh and blood) through surrogate birth (who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:6-8) through conception by the Holy Spirit through Mary his earthly mother to qualify him to execute the title of the Son of man with power to forgive and to make atonement for the sin and salvation of the world. The SON OF MAN is a divine title of spiritual attorney General and chief justice, to judge and to forgive sins – but that ye may know that the SON OF MAN hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then says he to the sick of the palsy) arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man’. John 5:25-27. Daniel 7:13. Hebrews 2:14. Matthew 9:6.
Where the first Adam (living soul) failed as the head of human race, Christ triumphed as the second Adam (quickening spirit) by his perfect obedient to God. He become the representative head of human race in the place of Adam to deprive Satan of his claim and right over man whom he won over to himself by the sin of Adam: whosoever commit sin is of the devil. As the Son of man, he shall soon be the ruler over the nations when all things shall be made new in the new heaven and new earth where the righteous shall dwell forever. Daniel 7:13-14. 2 Peter 3:13. Christ reference to one of the occurrence incident in the wilderness (and they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. And the people spoke against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loathes this light bread. And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, we have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said unto Moses, make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived) in the brazen serpent remedy for the healing of the Israelites that were bitten by snake for murmuring against God was a prophetic instruction and revelation that only in Christ shall we found life, healing and salvation if we look unto him that was pierced for us on the cross. Surely (on the cross) he has borne our grief, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was laid on him, and by his stripes we are healed. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the SON OF MAN be lifted up, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved from the dominion of sin and freed from the grip and any claim of Satan. They shall be healed from the venom of the old serpent in their blood and freed from any evil spiritual DNA passed down to them from their forefathers and from Adam’s transgression from the Garden of Eden. But would be required to keep a closer walk and focus on the living Christ for continual supply of his Spirit’s quickening power and grace, lest they be bitten again by the present sins in the flesh and in the world by the snares of the tempter (old serpent) who is roaming about, seeking whom to devour. Numbers 21:4-9. John 3:14-15.  The Jews were confused by the title of the SON OF MAN (the people answered him, we have heard out of the law that Christ abides forever: and how sayest thou, the Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?) and they confront Christ for an answer. John 12:34. This attributed title of Christ as the SON OF MAN gives us a glimpse to the uniqueness of his labor and sacrifice: it’s positive blessings if we accept the testimony about Christ, and the negative eternal consequence for all it cost him to accomplish our redemption on the cross of Calvary if we reject the gift of salvation in Christ. First, he came as substitute for sin and to die and be raised from dead to make atonement for it, bringing in everlasting righteousness. For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so, shall the SON OF MAN be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth: for the SON OF MAN is come to save that which was lost. Secondly, Christ will come back as head and Savior of his body (the church: the SON OF MAN shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear) and as the governor and judge over the nations, watch you therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the SON OF MAN. Though, our Lord was the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, but in order to fulfill all righteousness, just like his baptism at the river of Jordan by John the Baptist to seal the deed of this title on earth as the only Mediator between God and man to become our faithful high priest in things pertaining to God at the moment he offered his righteous soul for our sinful souls to death: for the SON OF MAN came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. 1Timothy2:5-6. Matthew 12:40. Matthew 13:41-43. Matthew 16:27. Matthew 20:28. Luke 21:36.
The SON OF MAN lifted up speaks of three things. Firstly, it speaks of his death on the cross for our offenses and his resurrection for our justification. The curse of the law was placed on him and we walked free. Secondly, the SON OF MAN lifted up also speak of his resurrection power presently working in his church in the lives of his people for the same experience when he shall come to be glorified in them that believe to change their vile bodies to be fashioned according to his glorious body, that in the ages to come the Father might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on in corruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So, when this corruptible shall have put on in corruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, and then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Thirdly, the SON OF MAN lifted high speak of believers’ momentary resurrected life from the state of spiritual death to the state of spiritual life in Christ Jesus by the spirit of regeneration. There is no more condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus as long as they are walking in the spirit and not in the flesh to fulfil the lusts thereof. The life in the spirit is the reward of believers’ exaltation in Christ, the position of their relationship, when they were raised up by God from the state of spiritual death and were quickened and raised from a lower to a higher position in the spirit and were made to sit with Christ in heavenly places. This is one of the mysteries of godliness – justified by Christ in the spirit. They are saved and called to draw men to Christ by the influence of their new of life. They are chosen to lift Christ up in everything they think, say and do. They are exalted when Christ is exalted in their lives. Their going low does not diminish Christ who is forever highly lifted up. Their sinful and worldly attitudes are acts of betrayal and ingratitude to Christ life, if they walk in the flesh to trample the son of God under their feet and to count the blood of the covenant wherein, they are sanctified as an holy thing.
When the SON OF MAN shall come back, will he find faith on earth? Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Acts 3:26. The sinless life of Christ as God in the flesh qualified his death for the unblemished blood he shed as perfect substitute for us and as the perfect acceptable sacrifice of atonement to God for our reconciliation with the Father. By this, having paid the due price for our sins, warranted and capacitated him to take the keys of death and hell back from the hands of Satan. By this, God raised and placed Christ into an indisputable and irrefutable exaltation and authority transferred and delegated to the heirs of promise (believers of all ages) when God put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that fills all in all.
