The power, glory, beauty and blessings of humility – Micah 6:8 Message delivered today 31-12-18.

Recently, I was priviledged to meet with Pasteur Luc Warnon who is the pastor of mission Timothie Nimes assembly -France. He is a man of good testimony among all, lovable and humble man of God by example. We arrived at the church compound in his car withhis wife for the first time and came out to go inside their church auditorium as he walked me thorough the second entrance to the main church which he called the way of humility –chemin d’humilite. There are two entrances to the church. One is popular and many worshippers utilise, but the other is an entrance you are required to bend your head down to walk through, even if you as short as Zacheaus the tax collector. I guessed this is his popular route because it is just close to his car park adjacent to the church premises. He preached with clarity and power in humility. He clarified that humility is not only to bend outwardly, but must come from the heart- it is the issue of the heart, lest it be a false humility.
In Christ Jesus, the believer is saved and called to live in a constant dependent life unto God, by relying daily on divine grace for guidance and protection for each day’s work.                                                            The overall purpose of his union and death (crucifixion) with Christ is that as long as we live in this world to die to self and to the works of the flesh, and to reflect Christ in our daily lifestyles through the fruit of the Spirit.
We are not sufficient in ourselves to do anything, but as God works in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure, the obedience of Christ and divine will are wrought in them who has subjected themselves to the gospel of Christ, denying the flesh and yielding constantly to Christ within.                                                To be dead to sin (Romans 8:10) the believer must starve the demons responsible for any work of the flesh to death in his life. Meaning, to live live decisively and defiantly against his old ways and against the pleasure of sin by killing everything connected with the old ways of life, ignorantly grabbing whatever attracts his fancy by doing what he likes and when he wants it. These are the things to sacrifice unto the Lord as we get rid of them through prayer and grace for obedience to the word of God – fornication, adultery, in-ordinate affection, uncleaness, filthiness of the flesh and of the spirit, evil concupiscence, malice, blasphemy, stubbornness, lying, deceit, taking of bribe, pride, evil eyes, evil speaking, filthiness and foolish talking or jestings which are not convinient, coveteousness, idolatory, theft, wickedness, foolishness, lasciviousness, envying, jealousies, witchcraft, murders, drunkenness, revellings, emulations, wrath, anger, bitterness, sedutions, wickedness, crookedness, heresies, backbiting, variance, rebellious spirit, strife etc. Colossians 3:5-8. 1 Peter 4; 1-2.
Following King Saul’s rejection caused by his disobedient in the affront against the Amalekites in the war operation total destruction as instructed by God, he (God) said he initially perceived Saul as a responsible and a humbled young man in a child like spirit, but not as he hoped for, was disappointed for Saul opinionated attitude and spirit. God never changes, neither has he mistakenly by divine error appoint Saul as the first king of Israel: but as an unstable mind, self willed and indecisive man can easily changed as chameleons to his own destruction when he leans to his own understanding, so he changed from what was expected of him. The problem, question and answer rest in man reliability, dependability in responsibility as a faithful servant. Note: position of authority and power with God does not equal to power and equality with God who is above all and over all things.                                                                                                                                                                        Nevertheless, Saul has sprout wings so quickly and Jehovah was highly disappointed with no option left than to dethroned him for his insubordination……Then Samuel said unto Saul, stay, and I will tell thee what the Lord hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, say on.And Samuel said, when thou was little in thine own sight (humbled, teachable in godly simplicity) was thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? 1 Samuel 15:16-17.                                                      To start with, God will choose the humble and insignificant people, the outcast, men of uncircumcised lips, weakest and the basest of men to fulfil special works and purposes for his glory……for you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish thing to confound the wise.                                                                          But if men got deceived like king Nebuchadnezzar for whatever position, glory, power, wisdom, blessings and praises and puffed up, they shall be abased and diminished before the Most High…..He look on every one that is proud, and abase him. He has shown strength with his arm and has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. Exodus 6:30. Psalms 78:70-71. Judges6:15. Daniel 4:17. Luke 1:48.
In the sight of God and before all the people of Israel, the young Samuel had the testimony to be upright and steadfast in the word of God and he did let ‘none of his word’ fall to the ground in contrast to Eli’s worthless children (sons of Belial) who openly defies the authority of God’s word and made the Lord’s people to transgress. Our sins become more grievious to God and aggravated against us when we introduce the practice of iniquity in the very house of God with the worshippers or the seeker after God who ought tobe taught and shown the way of righteosness – this evil action is to take the name of the Lord in vain- it is profanity of highest degree.                                                                                                                          If the word of God cannot break us nothing shall do; and the degree to which we have changed and transformed by the work shall reveals the effect of such brokenness of heart and spirit through the quality or intensity of our zeal for the word of God and reverence and eagerness shown to keep and abide in it.    We can only be thoroughly sanctified and cleansed by the washing of the word of God through the sanctifying power of the Spirit of God to be presented ready for Christ return without spot and blameless by loving every jot of it- to live by every word of God. Great peace is reserved for them that love it, and nothing shall offend them. Matthew 4:4. 1 Samuel 2: 23- 24: (3) 20. Matthew 3:4.
If the word of God can’t break you nothing will – the broken power and effect of the word is meant to transform us into the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ in true righteousness and holiness- to achieve a total transformation of life (conformable to his death) before we finally see him as he is, when he will take us to himself and forever and completely be like him- my son, attends to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart: they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:20-22.
When the heart is not spiritually broken, we tend to designate the word of God to a particular continent or geographical location and for an era: we tend to forget that whatever was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures we should have hope. We forget to grasp the truth that what happened to the church in the wilderness should serve as warning shot and discipline of a careful walk for us, lest God frown at walk and doings before him (displease) to whom the end of the world is come.                                                                                                           This is the making of the enemy to deceive us believing that the world has so much evolved and civilized that it is up to the church and the clergy’s to modernize and standardize the word of God to comform to the world of God for acceptance and ungodly rewards. Thus many under sherpherds are handling the word of God deceitfully with flatering words and fair speeches to corrupt the incorruptible -eternal word of God and to make themselves as curse children who has forsake the right way going after the way of Baalam for reward – perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw yourself. 1Timothy 6:5.                                                                                  Forever O Lord, your word is settled in heaven – heaven and earth shall pass away, not on jot from the word of God shall pass without fulfilment. The word of God is written and given for all ages; and his commandment is everlasting whicn cannot be altered for any generation or people, but it abides forever. John 12:50.
When the heart is not broken, it is offended, bitter and angry at the spoken word whenever the uncommon truth and undiluted word with unapologetic strong spiritual meat is served and sound doctrine preached or spoken. This is a rebellious spirit, sinful attitude to kick against the prick – resisting the inner and trasformative works of Holy-Spirit and fighting against God. It is needless to strive with the preacher and wrest the word of God for personal destruction into the state of reprobate mind and be led away with the error of the wicked: but let us desire grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3: 15-18.                                                      Most importantly, we ought to take the word of God personally for the love and regards we have for it, considering that the Lord is speaking to us as Father to his beloved sons and daughters for our transformation to mend our ways before him for our good. It is very wrong, sinful and unacceptable before God when get angry with the preacher or are offended because of the undiluted spoken word: otherwise, the word will not profit us and the intended purposes of God shall not be fulfilled in us as we remain in our foolishness to perish in our gainsayings. Proverbs 27: 22.
The Lord gave himself to the church that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.
The word of God is like a detergent (the cleanser) meant to remove all the stains of iniquity from our lives and to wash dirts from our ways and paths if we carefully appllies it to our lives, ways, situations and circumstances. Ephesians 5: 26-27.
The word of God is compared to be like the mirrow meant to help us to see clearly and to serves as a navigator in all our ways to aid or stop us from doing anything that may not serve divine purposes and interests in our lives. If we ponder our steps and ways through the light and guidance of the word, we shall be preserved from the corruption that is in the world, never to be misled or fallen into the errors of the wicked and our relationship with God shall not be marred by the lies and deceit of the wicked one –Satan.
We are living in a world of gross ungodliness, wickedness, lawlessness, iniquities, snares, deception, hypocrisy and destructions. The cultures, customs, systems, ways and doings of the sons of men are corrupts and the only way to escape the corruption in the world is our adherent to Christ life and steps in our thoughtful and careful observation of the word of God in our daily walk.                                                As children of God in the world, we should be thoughtful in every dealings and relationships with the believers and unbelievers alike. Through the fruit of the Spirit, and not by any unique gift of physical attraction, we should be able to discern and to differentiates on what type of Chrisitian a brother or sister’s are (broad way or wide gate traveller) before commiting ourselves or mingling in any deeper friendship with them. Christ sent us as doves in the midst of wolves and warned us to be wise as serpent and gentle as doves; while Apostle Paul also warned us in his epistle to associates only with them that calls upon the name of the Lord out of a pure heart –which means you have to look out first and be discernible, lest someone from the place of light (church) brings you back to the world of sin and darkness. 2 Timothy 2:22.  There is a beloved brother who’s nick-named is ‘the bible says’ just because of his constant habit of saying the bible says’ in any normal, usual or unusual conversation anytime and anywhere, bringing his thoughts and that of his hearers to the obedient of the word of God.
His conversations are always within the scope of the scriptures as bringing and binding himself under the tuitors and dictates of the written word (scriptures). It is the only way to be saved, safe and secured in a world and societies that is full of fables, deceits and deceivers, polluters, increasing false teachers and manipulations of the doctines of demons and philosophies of men.
God’s plan is to bring a clean thing (divine nature and holiness) out of an unclean thing (man which drinks iniquity like water) but we must be careful in our ways to allow the word of God to be our reminder and controller – wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word!
Our love for God is shown in our abiding (staying or remaining faithful) in his word and our continuation in it. If we admits and call Christ as Lord, we must be submissive and obedient to his rules, teachings and life-styles as reveals in the written word –only let your conversations be as it becomes (conforms to, aligns with) the gospel of Christ……Philippians 1:27. Psalms 119:9.                                                                      We cannot disregard and demonstrates contempt for the word of God and thought to be acceptable before him. The humble Christian is always thankful for the admonition administered in the spirit of meekness while the haughty unbroken believer indignantly rejects corrections and warnings and sometimes abandons his local church for another assembly where he can be freed to do that which pleases him without any confrontation for correction and to have his ways as he wishes.                                                  The church or Christian gathering is likened to a school where we learn about God and there can neither be any meaningful or reasonable walk and growth with God in a heretic and rebellious life- his growth and communion with God stops where his obedient ended.                                                                                    There are so many local churches where disciplinary measures are not in place and anyone can just behaves unreasonably and unscripturally without any disciplinary measure to correct and bring such back to fellowship that others may learn and fear, simply because they don’t want to loose any member. Why have we abandoned and neglet the doctrine of excommunication for the sake of senseless unscriptural love without judgement, by approving things that are not excellent? 1Timothy5:20. 1 Corinthians 5:13. Titus 3:10.
It is important to submit to church leadership, authority and discipline for the Lord’s sake: and should not walk in a rebellion spirit, to instigate or cause any uproar or confrontations whatsoever against our leaders or the leaderships in the churches of God because of the truth spoken.                                                        Spiritual brokenness increases the desire to longs for more of God and to increase in our reverence of him. Such men and women has truly come to their spiritual head and teacher to learn, receives instructions to walk and stay with Christ till the end of their sojourn on earth as they desire more of the strong meat to be fed therewith and are never in dissatisfaction against any hard saying word of God meant for their stability and spiritual growth, but shall ever exclaims, Lord, evermore give us this bread. The measure of our brokenness determines the extent of our usefulness by God. John 6:34.
Such brethren shall sacrifice whatever is just for thier communion with God and for the insatiable longings they craved of him in their desire for transformation into his resemblance and image until they see him face to face in glory when they shall be like him and see him as he really is…..blessed are those that hunger and thirst after righteousness, they shall be filled. John 6: 66-69.
Spiritual brokenness increases our enthusiasm and spiritual fervency. It increases our faithfulness and watchfulness as we are very careful to please the Lord in an ever increasing love and commitments that we might increase in the testimony and the love of Christ which is beyond man’s understanding. Such was the truth and testimony in the life of Mary that as soon as she got back to Bethany, she left no stone un-turned to witness to her sister (Martha) of the goodness and mercy of the Lord – the acceptance and forgiveness she found in Christ.
It was not a suprise that Martha was so enthusiastic, affectionated and eager to have Christ as a guest in her home, having learnt and saw from her sister (Mary) the forgiving, loving, transforming and redemptive power of the holy and anointed One. Luke 10:38. The love and friendship of our Lord with Lazarus (Martha and Mary’s brother) commenced from the encounter of Mary with Christ as she brought untold and manifold blessings to her family, including the souls that were won to the Lord through the act and testimony of Lazarus resurrection from the dead by Christ……Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou loves is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus…..Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. John 11: 1-5: 41-45.
Spiritual brokenness is an inward change, an indicator of growth to reflect the progress of perfecting the image of Christ within; as it is written, though the outward of man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
This is where the carnal and the worldly Christians got it wrong. They strife about words over and over again that God is not looking in the appearance nor intrested in the outward; but the truth is that if the inside is not cleansed, neither shall the outward be cleansed. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter that the outside of them may be clean also. 2 Corinthians 4:16. Matthew 23:25-26.                                                                    ‘I want to be more like Jesus and follow him day by day, I want to be true and faithful and every command obey. More and more like Jesus I will ever be, more and more like Jesus, my Saviour who died for me’…….such is the supplication, pursuit and life of a broken Christian in his prosperity and in the days of his adversity (thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works. Psalms 73: 24-28.)                                    The spiritually broken Christians are far from backsliding – going back from following the Lord is not in their thought: for these are killed all day long and are counted as sheep for the slaughter for the Lord’s sake. Nothing and no one can break them again because they are already broken by the Lord, and to him alone shall their spirit, soul and body yield. They are spiritually staunch for the Lord and totally rebellious to evil and Satan. There is absolutely nothing that can deter them or hurts them from serving the Lord in humility, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. It is not a delay or an unfilled promise or a false and negative prophecy, or any offensive behaviour from a false brother, or demonic bombardments with any other weapons from the adversary that can stop or derail them from moving forward to fulfil their course in the Lord.
Such presumptive act of heinous crime of backslidding from the Lord (for whatever reason) is unimaginable and they shall not walk in the paths thereof. They will rather pray like David and pour out their supplications to God in ditress….let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Psalms 80:17-19.
They have gotten grace for dominion over adverse circumstances and shall not be moved.     They shall wait continually on their God and trust Christ until he shows up for their salvation and shall bodly answer their persecutors and accusers before any furnance of fire like Shadrak, Messach and Abednego that their God is able to save him; and if not, they shall not bow to compromise before any image or worship man for whatever gain or reason against the living God.                                                                                          When the prodigal son finally got broken, he went back home and begged his father, not to be taken back as a legitimate child, but supplicated to become a submissive and sold out servant to his father. It is in such a spirit and manner that a broken believer shall consciously, completely and willingly sold out for the Lord till the end, to lose his life for the Lord than he might save it at the end.                                                        Spiritual brokenness is the spirit of total subjection (freed from murmuring, striving against the word of God and complaining out of frustration in affliction) to divine dealings and providences, paving way for God to have his way and to be glorified in us and through us, whether by life or it be by death.                  As the day passes by, the believer’s patience is growing stronger under the rod and trials until patience finally have her perfect work, that he may be perfect and complete, wanting nothing……Though he slay me, yet will I trust him; but I will maintain my ways before him. He also shall be my salvation; for the hypocrite shall not come before him. Job:13: 15-16. James 1: 2-4. Psalms 37:23-24. Matthew 20:6.
Spiritual brokenness prevents us from sinful, negative and punishable behaviours and reactions in adversities before God who knows our souls in it.                                                                                          It helps us to protect the honour of his name and to live and act wisely before men against slanderous report or occasion to reproach against the presence of the Lord and the operation of his hands in our lives. Psalms 31:7. It will help us to see God’s goodness and purposes in every good or bad thing – grateful and thankful for all things while standing on his word and responding positively to his promises, knowing that all things shall work together for our good because we love God and are called according to his pupose.
Spiritual brokenness is the power that sustains us to pursue our calling and vocation as we have begun and received Christ in a child-like spirit to continue in the same mind till the end; enabling us to avoid dis-intergration into the same pitfall of the taunted Jeshurun (Israel)…..but Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. Deuteronomy 32:15.
Whenever we get proud, we become senseless – not getting it right with God and with ourselves- out of our right mind. Whenever we have a speculative imagination of ourself, we are living in a fool paradise. We are at that particular moment delusional and eristic, but do we have any reason or argument to lift up the ego before God apart from glorying in him?
It is not given and there is nothing for the crucified believer in Christ to esteem, advance, preserve, enhance, exalt or confide in the flesh. Beware of those self exalted and self re-making evil ministers out there whose gospel messages are not meant to destroy the pride and arrogance in you that Christ should increased in every areas of your life.
The doctines and gospel of self- esteeming, self-advancing, self- preserving, self and image enhancing, self -exalting and self -proclaiming apart from the Lord’s glorification and grace sufficiency in your life is from the pit of hell!Note:self improvements were the gospel preached by Satan in the Garden of Eden to Adam and Eve before their fall, death and expulsion from the presence of God- you shall be wise -you shall be as God- your eyes shall be opened- you shall not die. Genuine and true crucifixion of life with Christ shall prevent, help and protect believer against the spirit and false doctrines of self estimation, self advancing, self preserving, self enhancing, self exaltation and self assurance, self improvement apart from the Lord’s sufficiencies for he must continually decreases as the Lord continually increases in his life –its all now about Christ and none about you any of us. This is the absolute truth; the believer has to think within the balance of the word of God and the operation and manifestation of the Spirit of grace upon him. Not too high, neither too low of himself; but to think soberly according to the measure of faith received from God that his thoughts life should be centralized on Christ which is the giver, author and the finisher of his faith. Only then shall he not err in his thoughts and ways and shall have nothing to boast of or to hold on to as personal but all for Christ while still in the flesh –thus shall he be freed indeed from the sin, guilt, defilement and condemnation of worldliness, selfishness, self-centredness and the pride of life…..for I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3.
Like Mary in her daily devotions and duties from the beginning of her conversion until the end with the Lord, we must get it right with the Lord in humility of mind, thoughts, words, life styles and daily walk of faith. Mary’s heart was broken from the commencement of her encounter with the Lord (conversion) and in her ever increasing devotional life and un-sparingly service as a disciple of Christ by using her resources to promote the kingdom work with the other women that ministered unto Jesus with their personal wealth and riches till the end of her stewardship for the Saviour……And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, and certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and Many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. Luke 8: 1-3.She was always at the ‘feet of Jesus’ in that true humility in child like’s faith and spirit that was found in her and demonstrated at conversion when she ‘knelt down at the feet of Jesus’ for pardon and salvation (Luke 7:38) which continued in her daily life and in her spiritual growth as she ‘sat at the feet of Jesus’ to receive the word of God at Bethany; while Martha occupied herslf in the kitchen to make food. Luke 10: 39.
In her hour of great sorrow and loss, at the death of her brother Lazarus, though she got all the carnal and sensual reason to behave madly and to mourn tearfully in the power of her flesh like the people of the world without the hope of resurrection from the dead will manifest (1 Corinthians 15:19) yet; she waited for her Saviour’s arrival before she wept (perhaps, she’s hoping and expecting for a miracle of resuscitation of Lazarus back to life which eventually hapened) for her brother’s loss as she fell down again at the ‘feet of Jesus’ before Christ at his arrival to their home to express her desire and expectation……the Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, she goeth unto the grave to weep there.              Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she ‘fell down at his feet’, saying, Lord, if thou hast been here, my brother had not died. John 10: 31-32.
Proud Christians are a disgrace to God for their spiritual madness –arrogance spirit. Even the mentally mad man at Gadarene, when he finally got delivered from the legions of his demons that held him captive after so many years, sat down at the ‘feet of Christ’. Thus should every sane and totally freed believer behaves – always at the ‘feet of Christ, been humbled by his mercy and spiritually broken inside to live and walk and act humbly all day long. Luke 8:35.                                                                                            Spiritual brokenness makes allowancs for more of God’s presence and fullness in us.
We just want to be where the Lord can be found and nothing shall satisfy us until that non negotiable desire is met – sitting and learning at his feet, receiving the word from his mouth and constantly worshiping the beauty of holiness. According to the Lord’s own word about Mary, it was the good part which shall not be taken from her…..thus the Lord refused Martha’s request to stop Mary from listening and learning the word of God at his feet to serve table…….the scriptures cannot be broken, the Lord loved the people; all his saints are in his hand: and they ‘sat down at thy feet’; every one shall receive of thy word. Deuteronomy: 33:3. Luke 10: 38-42. Mary’s priority and labour was for the food (bread of life) that endures till eternal life. Her choice and preference for the word of Christ was honoured before all – I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Job 23:12.                                                    The Lord honoured Mary and justified her quest for spiritual hunger and thirstiness after righteousness, prioritizing her spiritual life and growth above the pleasure of filling the flesh- labour not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. John 6:27.
As long as we’re aware of our identity and spiritual personality in Christ as royal priesthood, a holy nation, peculiar people and chosen generation of the Lord, endeavouring to maintain uprightness and integrity of the same in our daily walk; there is no doubt that the person of Christ shall be honoured and respected in our lives – and of the rest durst no man join himself to them, but all men magnified them and had them in profound respect – honour and admiring deference. Acts 5:12-13. 1 Peter 2:9.                                                The awareness and maintenance of man’s integrity earns a respect to his personality – man’s personality ought to be respected.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them…..when Daniel, Shadrack, Messach and Abednego were certain beyond any reasonable doubt of their relationship with God, their right standing with him and conformity to his will; king Nebudchanezar, his lords, counsellors and the whole nations were forced to honour the God of Daniel, Shadrack, Messach and Abednego and their names and personalities were highly set by and whosoever dare say anything against the God of these men shall be destroyed. Proverbs 11:3. Daniel 3:28-30.                                                                                                                                          What a great grace and power to be humbled in spirit! Such is the mind and beauty of Christ in reward to divine demand for the satisfaction and blessing that such heart derives from the Father and for the growth of its fruit and testimony in the elects for their emulation of Christ and fellowship with him. Acts 4:13.        The Lord is nigh (close) to them of a broken heart and saves them that are of a broken spirit…..Mary was so devoted and attached to the Lord, sensitive to the voice of God’s spirit in her daily walk and spiritual growth. She was conscious to Christ immediate need in her personal preparation to anoint the Lord’s body against his death and burial. She began her spiritual walk ‘at the feet of the Lord and at his feet’ she ended up in her lowly service and devotedness in the presence of all before the death of Christ as she took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. John 12: 3.                                                      When the heart is truly broken, the gift or the material possession is lesser in sight and value in comparison to the owner and the great provider of all good things that gives us all things freely to enjoy.    The high cost of the sweet ointment poured on Christ was of no importance to Mary comparable to the inestimable worth and valued of Christ in her life, ignoring the wasted charges wrongly brought and judged against her by Judas Iscariot. If we allow our possessions, gifts and any other blessings to determines our walk and worth and value above the great giver, the God of every good and perfect gift, we become idolaterers and such blessings become god(s) against what is written and expected of us.          Without considering the cost, we seek to offer unto God not just anything, but the best of our material possession that is of worth in value for the acknowledgement of his riches and of his glory – the sign of our acknlwledgement and submission to his sovereignty and rulership over all things, the creator from whom all blessings flow. 1 Chronicles 29:16.
If we are humble in spirit, the Lord shall give us the best and most honourable of works and tasks to be accomplished for the glory of his name.                                                                                                           Increasing humility brings abundance of grace and empowerment for every good works and we are set aside in a better position for glory and honour.                                                                                            Everyone present at Martha’s house at Bethany (not even Peter, James and John – the Lord’s confidants) never understood Mary’s action prompted by the Holy-Spirit (except the Lord alone John 12; 7-8) to anoint the body of Christ against his burial. Time shall not be given to anyone to do this honour for Christ in his death before his resurrection from the dead; hence this pre-annointment of Mary was so crucial to God that he chose the spiritually broken hearted woman to be honoured for the task.
The Lord shall guide the meek in judgement and honour shall uphold the humble in spirit – divine foreknowledge and spiritual foresight (revelation) were given to Mary for her spiritual humility and self -abasement, closeness and devotedness to the Lord for the forgiveness she found and pardon she obtained and her love and unending gratefulness to Christ – thus the Lord was right at Simeon’s house when he said; her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much. Luke 7:47. Psalms 25:9.                            Mary Magdalene was honoured before the whole gathering by the Lord; though, Judas by pretence, covetousness, stealing, greediness and hypocrisy sought to disqualify and nullify her steadfastness, devotedness and good works on Christ as wasteful and non-important……Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bear what was put therein. John 12:4-6.
Spiritual brokenness attract us to divine presence and approval, making us available for any immediate work and business of the King that may require haste……And Jesus said, let her alone; why trouble ye her? She hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whenever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. She hath done what she could: she is come a forehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, where-so ever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her – what a testimony, glory and honour bestowed upon Mary by the Lord! Mark 14:6-9.
A stitch in time saves nine – if we humble ourselves before the Lord, walking and serving him in all humility, we shall be positioned to be on time and never behind as we are led constantly and timely by the Spirit of God in contrast to the other women that failed (apart from Mary Magdalene) in their bid to do the honour to anoint the Lord in his death – too little, too late, the Lord is risen from the dead……And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, be not affrighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they anything to any man; for they were afraid. Mark 16: 1-8.
Apart from the Lord’s revelation and presence, we are ignorance of the full knowledge of Satan’s operations and power, ignorant to the extent to which the adversary can go (the depths of Satan) to put us down and to tear us apart as the lion would devour its prey. Revelation 2:24.                                                If the Lord rebukes, limits, prevents and stops and put him under the sole of our feet, give us power and authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy, we are no match for the old serpent, the deceiver of the whole world. Romans 16:20.                                                                        Except that God has raised us up together, and made to sit together with Christ in heavenly places, we shall still be dead in our sins and trespasses, helpless, powerless and imprisoned to the enemy. Ephessians 2:1-3. Except that God is on our side and has been our dwelling and hiding place, if not, the fierce arrows of the wicked should have destroyed us, and the proud waters had gone over our souls. Psalms: 124.                    Except that God is keeping his vineyard, watering and watching over it day and night lest any hurt it; then the enemy should have make us as one of his own – tares among the Lord’s wheat. Isaiah 27:2-3.              Except the Lord has set us free, we shall never have come out from the incarceration of him (Satan) who never opens the door for his prisoners. John 8:36.
Except that God does not change, all the sons of Jacob shall all soon be crushed and destroyed by the fierce wrath of the old serpent. Malachi 3:6 Revelation 12:12.
The above pictures of Satan and the power of God against any of his move should create a thoughtful sober reflection, reverence and to create an unterupted relationship and fellowship with the God of our salvation in our daily life for an ever increasing grace which can only be obtained through genuine state of humility in spiritual walk for strenght and power, grace and glory against the attacks, lying tricks and opposition of Devil.
We should constantly seek to be at the feet of the Lord for his unfailing protection (see Psalms 91) and for our constant renewal of strength and timely instruction and guidance – never to presume in self- willed and rebellious spirit like the Israelites in the wilderness when they presumed to fight the enemy after they were warned by Moses not to do so, when they had formerly disobeyed God; nonetheless, they went out to fight but learnt the bitter lesson of humiliation and defeat – of doing things in spiritual presumption. Numbers14:40-45.
Had Peter not presumed, not too sure of himself and deceived by his heart and fleshly mind that he can withstand the adversary without the Lord on his side and without the grace of God for help in the time of need, he would not denied the Lord he so much loved.
But he wept bitterelly after his betrayal of Christ (spiritual brokenness) for the sudden and unexpected blow he got from the Devil and was re-converted and restored by his repentance whicg was reflected in his remorse for the pardon sought and given.
Such is it when we are not humbled to believe and obey the Lord’s voice, even the little country like that Ai, of which the Israelis persuaded Joshua not to exert and commit much efforts and men of war to engage in battle shall caught us unaware and defeat us – except we lay apart all superfluity of naughtiness, we cannot effectively withstand and resist the devil, but shall be overcome by every little or big problems and trials that shall come to try our faith and steadfastness in the promises of the scriptures which are the anchor for our souls that we shall not be allowed to be tempted above that we are able to bear, but with the same temptation, God shall make a way of escape that we might be able to bear it. Joshua 7: 1-8. 1 Corithians 10:13.
Had Hazael not so much thought that he was sufficient in himself to will and do according to his own pleasure, he would not have taken God for a liar; than to humbly asked Prophet Elisha for the possibility to reverse and avert the negative revelations and prophetic utterances fortold about his barbaric future acts against the children of Israel when he shall come to reign as the king of Syria. He was so sure and had a good opinion of himself, much better than he deserved as he though it impossible to do such things as foresees by Elisha…..Is your servant a dog, that I should do such great thing? He asked Elisha!                  When men are little and poor, they cannot tell or imagine how strong the temptations of power and prosperity are: and, if ever they arrive at them, they shall find out that the earth shall be disquieted and cannot bear a servant when he reigns, neither a fool when he is filled with bread……And Elisha came to Damascus; and Benhadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, the man of God is come hither. And the king said unto Hazael, take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and enquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? And Elisha said unto him, go, say unto him, thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die. And he settled his countenance steadfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept. And Hazael said, why weepeth my lord? And he answered, because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child. And Hazael said, but what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha answered; the Lord hath shewed me that thou shalt be king over Syria. So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, what said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover. And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth, and dipped it in water, and spread it on his face, so that he died: and Hazael reigned in his stead……Thus says the Lord, for three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron. But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad. I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord. 2 Kings 8: 7-15. Amos 1: 3-5. Proverbs 30:21-23.
The spirit of pride shall not bring or aide anyone to heaven, neither advantage him in his walk of faith on earth. The cause (pride) of Satan’s fall from heaven shall be the degradation of any man in the kingdom of God- he resists the proud. The condemnation (pride) of Satan’s expulsion from heaven shall the judgement of denial of anyone into the glorious abode of the Most High. Pride should not be found in any that shall be admissible to the city of the great King. Together with God in prayer andf self discipline, we must work out the mind of Christ in our lives (humbleness of mind) if we are to be exalted with him in glory and to receive a new name.
The Lord shall bring us to situations and places and people which shall deliberately treats us roughly and disrespectful to break our pride and to humble and to perfect humility, meekness, forbearance with longsuffering and joyfulness in the Spirit in us. Job 30:11-14.
Pride is an evil spirit of defilement, and none that got defiles by it without purging, deliverance and cleansing from it by the blood of Jesus shall get to heaven. And he said, that which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:20-23.                        We should be mindful of heaven as our greatest goal and trophy. It should be the driven force for our humble submission to the purposes of God design to re-mould us to share in his holiness. We ought (duty and obligation) to get accustom to the Lord’s chastening and dealings in various physical and spiritual happenings, trainings and experiences in the various phases of our life either a sudden happening or foretold event-good or bad.                                                                                                                            Spiritual maturity, strength and power are amounted to what we have heard and what we learned and we are positively profiting from them in our daily experiences. It is the training and discipline that God sent to purge us from those things that would hinder us from making heaven, to shape and guide us daily by his word. His ultimate goal is for us to produce the peaceable fruit of righteousness from them and to be partaker of his holiness……And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years. Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chastened his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; a land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; and thou say in thine heart, my power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:1-8.
The manifestation of miraculoussigns and wonders in the believer’s life has nothing to do with the manifestations of fruit of the Spirit. Spiritual gift is not the proof of spiritual brokenness and maturity, be it in a minister of the gospel or in an ordinary church member. Manifesting and growth in the fruit of the Spirit in subjection to divine providence (God’s dealings) in our afflictions and trials which are meant to shape and bring us to Christian maturity and perfection in God’s holiness is all that counts that we might be counted worthy of the kingdom of heaven – that the trial of our faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.                                                                                                                               Sometimes we exercise the gifts and the anointing but then screwed up in words and characters – we must be purged from all our corruptions, vain conversations and follies of the flesh, sin and of the lusts of the world if we are to profit in God’s holiness to possess our spiritual land of Cannan – heaven.                        Unlike the earthly parents (Proverbs 13:24) which make use of rod or cane to whip and to scourge to chastises us, the Lord uses his word to correct, mould and to break us.                                                            The word of God is the primary agent of divine chastening and correction if our heart is not adamant as stone, while we pull away the shoulders……blessed is the man whom thou chastens, O Lord, and teaches him out of thy law; that thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and the upright in heart shall follow it. Psalms 94:12-19.                            If we get accustomed and adapted to various seasons, changes and challenges which the Lord is bringing into our lives and remains steadfast in conformity to the word of God; though they are painful, grievous and challenging; yet, they shall be profitable and rewarding at the end to exalts us in due time. 1 Peter 5: 6-7.
If we are submissive or subjected to the word of God without resisting its authority or compromising it’s instructions by twisting it to suit our taste or ease us in trial, then shall not our heart condemn us as long as we live and we shall come forth shinning in his glory as gold refined through fire at the end all our trials.
The believer should not by any evil company or influence, or by self-will resist the chastenings or the corrections of God’sword which are meant to shape him into the image of Christ and perfection in his holiness. Any rebellious attitude shall increase his grief and multiply his chastening from one fire (trouble. Ezekiel 15:7) to another which shall come upon him from the Lord, to the intent that he might return back to God’s will and word in humble subjection……Thus saith the Lord: for three transgressions of Judah and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof, because they have despised the law of the Lord, and their lies……If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; then I will give you rain in due season and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: but I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalembefore you by the sword. For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. And Iwill set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright. But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; and if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursues you. And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: and your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. And I will bring a sword upon you that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied. And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat. And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours. And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it. And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies’ land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths. As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your Sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it. And upon them that are left alive of you I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursues: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies. And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; and that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes. Amos 1: 4-5. Leviticus 26: 1-42.
Spirtual brokenness increases the power and the fruit of patience in us to wait continually on God until he shows up, while we are freed from anxiety to entertain any uncertainty against his faithfulness – take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. James 5:10-11.
Except he is directed, the spiritually broken believer is committed to divine sovereignty, counsels and providences as he wait uncompromising on the Lord to keep his way.                                                 Everything about each and every one of us has been written and ordered from above and nothing can be done or accomplished on earth if the highest has not given his approval and release. To this David says; I will cry unto God Most High, unto God that performed all things for me. Psalms 57:2:139:16.
The best and strongest of man is in himself worst and weak if the Lord does not empower him with immediate strength against the enemy as the very present help in the time of trouble. The Lord delighted not in the strength of the horse and in the legs of a man. The Lord takes pleasure in them that reverence him, in those that hope in his mercy.
We must constantly bank our hope and assurance in the unfailing protection, strength and power of God. Horse is made for the day of battle, but safety (victory) is of the Lord: it is a vain thing for safety; neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. The diviners shall be made mad and every false prediction shall fail and the wise shall be turned backward and their knowledge shall become foolish because the Lord shall turn the wisdom of the wise foolish and the understanding of the prudent shall come to nought. Though, King Ahab feignedly humility and pretentiously humbled himself before God after he learnt his fate from Prophet Elijah, his sentence and punishment of judgement for the death of Naboth whom he and his wicked wife (Jezebel) slew for Naboth’s refusal of the vineyard he coveted from him and the Lord judiciously transferred the punishments of his iniquity on his son’s days (And Ahab said to Elijah, hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord.Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.And of Jezebel also spake the Lord, saying, the dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel. And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? Because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house. 1 Kings 21) yet; nemesis caught on him when he arrogantly defies the prophetic warning from the Lord not to go to war against the Syrians but disguised himself to the battle at Ramoth-gilead to play wisdom and smartness against the only wise God and his unfailing word.
King Ahab’s wisdom and smartness failed as he died accidentally and prematurely from the wounds of the arrow shot by a certain man at venture against him in the battle and one washed the king’s chariot in the pool of Samaria: and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according to the word of the Lord which he spake.Psalms 147:10-11. Proverbs 21:31. Psalms 33: 17-20. 1 Kings 22:38.
Where and what is our covering and to whom do we run to in times of trouble and to whom do we look up to in times of urgent and pressing need? To whom do we cry for help and sought assistance? Except the Lord is our refuge and hiding place, other refuges and shelters shall fail us -Woe unto the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: that walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Isaiah 30:1-2.                                                                        We must fix our thoughts and expectations in the Lord, he is our deliverer and our deliverance will only come from him. We must trust in him at all times for a way out of any little or big problems to decide what method is the best solution for our problems, whether we should drink from brook Cherith and be fed by the ravens: and afterward be sustained by the widow of Zerephath as he did for his servant Elijah: cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of? Isaiah 2:22.                          If only you can have the opportunity to ask Joseph about his past experience inside the prison in Egypt, when he was falsely accused of sexual misconduct against his master’s wife, he will tell you that if God did not help you, even the chief butler to the king will be powerless and helpless in your situation, because he shall soon forget to render help back to his helper who has once interpted his dream that came through for his restoration.                                                                                                                                  Sometimes, the help we sought for may not come from where we have fixed our thoughts and directed our prayer to! It may not play out according to our plans and expectations apart from how the Lord intends things to play out because he would not share his glory with any son’s of man.                                              The earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof……men’s or king’s heart is in his hand to turn whereever it pleases him and to use to his glory and for his purpose if our focus is solely on him.                                    God knows all that is happening in our lives and he has fixed and perfect plans in store for us out of every dilemma we might found ourselves.                                                                                                              God is beautiful for every situation. He is our prefect crisis manager and no man can bail or bring us out of any trouble except the Lord redeem our Israel from all troubles…….He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: until the time that his word came (order from above) the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. Genesis 40:23. Psalms 105: 17-20. Job 5:19.
