 The Name of Jesus

 Nimes 05-01-21

Let me prayerfully come to the second reason upon which the protection and deliverance of believers out of troubles is assured as the Lord reveals to set him up on high because he has known his name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy, and show him my salvation.

The Old Testament revelation of God’s names were revealed at different times in various situation and circumstances It is therefore a progressive revelation of God’s personality to them of old until the fullness of time that Christ came into the world for perfect understanding and knowledge of God. But, which of the name among all the numerous names God is he talking about? It is important to discover which name in particular the Lord is referring to because they that know his name will put their trust in him; for the Lord has not forsaken them that seek him. Psalms 9:10.

Name is very powerful, significant and important in life, and in death and in eternity. The unsaved shall continue to bear and answer to their earthly names in death and in hell while the saved shall be given a new name in heaven as reward for overcoming. Presently, by our different names are our records in life on earth are written on high. At a point in life have we shown interest in our neighbors or colleagues name which might because we think that they might be of help to communicate more easily with a quick or direct access to them. The name of a person speaks much or little, good or bad about them, revealing their identity, character, influence, power and accomplishments. God reveals himself to us through different names by different situations, actions, characters, circumstances and events. It can be very influential, authoritative or nonentity. The Lord our God is one and indivisible, functioning within himself and manifesting himself by three major operation and separations of power and authority under the name of God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Son and the Spirit came out from the same Father of spirits. Christ said, I and my Father are one. This equality is shared with the Father because he is part of him in unison of purpose and intents, though the Father is greater than him in authority and power as the word that came out from God. If God the Father had kept silent, God the Son (the word) would not have created anything, and God the Spirit will not give or produce life to quicken the things created. In his discourse with the Jews, Jesus said, you heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you. If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. John 14:28. He further reveals that the Father lives in him doing all the mighty works and speaking all the gracious – inspiring words of never man has spoken like these words through him.

Divers encountered of the patriarchs with God in different situations and places inspired and to reveal other names of the Creator of heaven and earth. Because of the events that has taken place, and how it happened, and where it happened, and why it happened, men were inspired to receive the revelatory names of God, such as Elohim, Beerlahairoi, Jehovah-jireh, Elshaddai, Adonai, Jehovah-rapha, Jehovah-nissi, Jehovah-m’kaddesh, Jehovah shalom, Jehovah Sabaoth, Jehovah-shammah, the God of Bethel, the God of BaalPerazim, the God Elijah, Ebenezer, Omnipotent, Omniscience, Omnipresence etc.

The true knowledge of God and of eternal life is exclusively found in Christ. We must first know and accept Jesus Christ whom he has sent into the world – if any don’t have the Son, they don’t have the Father as well. This is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. John 17:3.

The name of JESUS connotes and denotes as Jehovah – Eternal –Savior – of Universal – Sin of Sinners. Christ is he who has obtained eternal redemption for us; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. There is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have eternal life. Isaiah 53:6. Romans 10: 8-13. John 3:16.
Jesus is the YHWH-JEVOHAH (I am that I am). Jesus is eternally the same, yesterday, today and forever (EL-OLAM – Everlasting God. Psalms 90:1-3. From everlasting to everlasting, you are God). Jesus is the savior (Yahweh-tsidkenu– the Lord our righteousness: neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  Jeremiah 23:6. Acts 4:12). Jesus is Lord and King over the entire universe (look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. Isaiah 45:22-24). Jesus is the good Shepherd that lay down his life for the sheep. All souls are his- and other sheep I have, says Christ, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. (Yahweh raah, the Lord is my shepherd). John 10:14-16.

This wonderful name of Jesus is a secret name of God which has been kept as a mystery until his conception when God was in Christ Jesus, reconciling the world unto himself (thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins) given to Mary by the hand of angel Gabriel sent to announce his conception and birth. Matthew 1:21. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.

Jesus is the wisdom and the power of God by whom the heaven and earth and everything therein were created – visible or invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist. The eternal decrees which founded the visible world upon the seas from the void has been with God before the foundation of the world – in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This unique name of Jesus is reveals as the first and the last names of God. Firstly as the Alfa, this is the beginning of the creation of God, the instrument and channel of all created things and being: for in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Everything of God gets expressed in him; you are complete in him which is the head of all principality and power. Secondly as the Omega, without him shall no petition be granted; neither shall any eternal desire be fulfilled. Nothing is acceptable to be considered for reward that is accomplished without the name of Jesus for it pleased the Father that he should have and pre-eminence: that in him should all fullness dwells. Christ signature and mark must be on any accomplished project or work before the Father, before they can be recognized, or else, such labor should be counted loss and wasted: and whatsoever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father by him. Colossians 3:17.

In his name every knee must bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father: it is imperative to submit the glory of all our victories and trophies at his feet as the Lamb that is worthy to receive glory honor and power, the all victorious Christ who always causes us to triumph in every place and in every situation in him: the sole author and finisher of our faith. The name of Jesus is the only guarantee and assurance of any request from heaven: without the intermediary of this great and wondrous name (and whatsoever you ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14: 13-14) we tend to ask in vain against the covenant agreement between the Father and Son, whom he has made as the heir of all things, the source of all lasting present and eternal blessings without any sorrow. Hebrews 1:1-2.

Jesus is the miracle name. Jesus is the victory name. Jesus is the key name. Jesus name is the only name that Satan and his demons respects and obeys. This name of Jesus is the supernatural creative power of God (and these signs shall follow them that believe; in my NAME shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. Mark 16:17) which can be activated to operate miracle by revelation to those that got the revelation (John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followed not with us. And Jesus said unto him, forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. Luke 9:49-50). Christ is the Son of God (I have seen and borne witness that this is the Son of God. John 1:34) in his birth, and the son of man (you will see the heaven’s open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the son of man. John 1:51), the second Adam, the new head of human race through his baptism of water and opf the Spirit at the commencement of his ministry on earth: to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Though the Jewish people expected the coming of their Messiah; but many of them were spiritually blinded to miss the time of Christ visitation as the result of their wrong perception of his personality and mission on earth at his first coming. Though they have searched and knew the scriptures which testified of him as foretold by prophet Isaiah that the Messiah should be revealed from Galilee, but their haughty hearts caused them to reject him. They were disappointed and offended by the humble birth of Christ to the lowest class of an earthly parents and family which the Lord of creation has chosen to come into the world…and it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:53-57.

But the scriptures clearly reveals that his lowly entrance into the world for his mission among men requires such great humility for the proper conduct and acceptance of his priesthood and efficacy of the sacrifice for the atonement of sins to be accomplished in the spirit of contrition that he might fulfill all righteousness. Just because of the meanness of his appearance (he hath no form nor comeliness, and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. Isaiah 53:2), our Lord never deserves the contempt they put upon his person, but that the scriptures might be fulfilled that he must be crucified through weakness, and be led like a lamb to the slaughter, and sheep before its shearers is silent, that he might live by the power of God: for we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God. If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father’. 2 Corinthians 13:4. Philippians 2:1-11.

The word of faith which we preach for salvation is the word of God and Christ is the word. Faith in his name is the faith in the word of God. Faith is another revelatory name of Jesus; he is the faith by which the worlds were framed by the word of God: for through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Anytime you speak the word of faith which is also the word of God, know that you are speaking Jesus from your mouth. Hebrews 11:3. Christ said to the Jews, your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. Abraham met with and saw and worshipped the Lord as the faithful high priest, Melchizedek king of Salem, which is King of peace, who has neither the beginning of days, nor the end of life; and gave him the tenth of the spoils of the war as he was returning back from the slaughtering of the kings, (nine nations altogether) and he blessed him. Genesis 15:6. Hebrews 7:1-6. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, in thee shall all nations be blessed’. Galatians 3:8.

Jesus was the faith preached to Abraham, and he accepted Christ by his trust in God’s word that he will be the father of many nations, even while uncircumcised, and it was imputed unto him as righteousness. God’s promised to Abraham that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith (righteousness of Christ. Romans 10:3) which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: and the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

The Lord taught his disciples on prayer while preparing them for his imminent departure back to the Father. He taught them how to seek for heaven’s blessings by asking the Father in his (Christ’s) name. They must see God as the Heavenly Father, and come as beloved children to him; and to Christ as mediator between them and God. Asking or petitioning in Jesus Christ’s name before the Father is to admit the existence or reality of our unworthiness to have an audience with the thrice holy God and to stand before him justified without the merit of the sacrifice of the Lamb of God which has taken away our sins – Jesus. Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ. ‘And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: for the Father himself loves you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. John 16:23-28.

This particular name of Jesus Christ is an outstanding – excellent above the names of all the heavenly beings and celestial angels, and above false Christ’s or Jesus. He is superior to the angels and they all worship him day and night  (don’t tolerate people who try to run your life, ordering you to bow and scrape, insisting that you join their obsession with angels and that you seek out visions. They’re a lot of hot air, that’s all they are. They’re completely out of touch with the source of life, Christ, who puts us together in one piece, whose very breath and blood flow through us. He is the head and we are the body. We can grow up healthy in God only as he nourishes us. Colossians 2:18-19). MSG translation.

We know by the scriptures that the angels of God are glorious creatures, far more glorious and excellent than mortals who are without Christ: they are not be worshipped by the elects of God, neither should they be invoked during prayer as advocates to God. They holy angels are not gods, but the servants and guardians, sent from our heavenly Father for our errands and necessities. Who (Christ) being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they? For unto which of the angels said he at any time, thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he brings in the first begotten into the world, he said, and let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels he said, who makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he said, thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: they shall perish; but thou remain; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; and as a vesture shall thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. Hebrews 1.

All the holy angels and everything in heaven and on earth, including the fallen Satan and all the unclean spirits, sicknesses and diseases, deaf and dumb spirits, blind and epileptic spirits, and lame and paralytic spirits, they all recognizes the power and authority vested on the name of Jesus to obey and to bow before him: for by him were they made. The wind, sea, fishes in the sea, animals, creeping or flying things, animate or inanimate things were created by him and they submit forever in reverence to the honor and glory of their being or existence before Jesus.

Mountains bow and displaced before his glorious name: the rough roads and the high mountains become plain before the authority of his name, while the red sea and wilderness experiences, the trials and your current troubles are designed to enrich your experiences of God’s mighty name in Christ Jesus our Lord. They serve as the cleft of the rock in which God will set you to behold his glory and to proclaim his wonderful name before you. Whenever your heart is overwhelmed, and you call upon Jesus name, then shall you be taken to the Rock (Christ) that is higher than you for safety and deliverance. The necessity cannot be overstated from the scriptures to the call to do everything, whether in word or deed, (sleeping, going to toilet, eating, drinking, driving car, flying in the air, going out and coming in, lying down, riding horse, cooking meals, having normal conversation, helping someone, giving and receiving gifts, visiting, working, relaxation, accompanying somebody, writing a letter, whatsoever you may think of doing, to do the same by this wondrous, most powerful and intriguing name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father by him.
