The word logos have been used in different senses along with Rhema. Many translations of the scriptures into Greek uses the terms Rhema and Logos as equivalents and uses both for the Hebrew word Dabar as the Word of God. Some modern usage in Christian Theology distinguishes Rhema from Logos (which here refers to the written scriptures) while Rhema refers to the revelation received by the reader from the Holy Spirit when the Word (Logos) is read or otherwise in meditation or quietness of spirit.
Jesus said, the spirit gives life, the flesh profits nothing, and the word he has spoken to us, they are spirit and they are life. Which means, the spirit of God has to bring to our remembrance those words of Christ’s teachings into our sub-conscious mind to empower us with the word of God in our spirit being, and to give life to or quickens the word of God for its manifestation. John 6:63.
Two years ago, while I was at Toulouse seeking the Lord’s face in preparation for a church plantation in fasting and prayer, a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. Then a word was audibly spoken which brought a scripture to my understanding – the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage. I stood up from bed to search for this passage in the scriptures. I was so glad also for the next verse of it which says, I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. Mind you, this was just about 2am in the morning which is exactly the normal time for my ‘cool of the day’ fellowship and ministering to the Lord. After praying for a while, I slept back; and then had a revelation in my dream approaching a city gate where many armed and fierce looking armies (which I termed as evil border controllers) are standing. These are the demons controlling the spiritual entrances of every village, rural areas, cities or nations against the invasion of truth and light at the border of the city. They are many and lining and filled up the gate or the border of the city, ready for control, and armed and ready to fight. I understood the revelation as I began to pray like this: (1) every demonic battle at the gate and at the border of my inheritance, scatter and perish in the name of Jesus. (ii) Evil border controllers and evil contentions and oppositions at the border and entrance of the city of my inheritance, scatter and perish in Jesus’ name. (iii) Every opposition and resistance at the gate of my inheritance, scatter and perish in Jesus’ name. (iv.) Organized armies of the enemies at the gate of the city of my inheritance, be confused and be disorganized to destroy one another in Jesus’ name. (v) No weapon fashioned against me at the entrance of the possession of my inheritance shall prosper and all those who have risen up against me at the border of the city of my inheritance shall fall for my sake in the name of Jesus. Psalms 16: 6-7.               
After few days of these prayer points with fasts, another word came to my hearing by the Spirit of God in my sleep, saying, thou art my King, O God, command deliverance for Jacob. I woke up with this word from my bed, and immediately reached for my bible and searched for the verse. I was so fascinated by what I discovered from the previous verses before the actual ‘messenger word’…. we have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and planted them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. Psalms 44: 1-4. 
These messages were given on the 7th day of August 2015 as I was about to leave the city for Nimes to sort out the problem with my resident permit with the prefecture at Languedoc Roussillon where I once resided. I was still in the process of sorting out the problem of my resident permit while on early December 2016 I went down to the city of Marseille by invitation to plant another church, where I was controlled by the Police a la frontier- French border police (P.A.F) at Marseille St. Charles station and was detained for seven days excluding the weekend with three different court appearances before I was finally released-then I remembered the border controlled vision and the deliverance commanded or sent by the Lord.                                                                                                                                  
The ‘messenger words and revelations are meant to direct and to point our attention to divine intentions and purposes while at the same time revealing the unrelenting efforts and restlessness of the enemy to thwart them in opposition- much more establishing the un-changing determination and counsel of the Lord to give us the land and to deliver on his promises as he fights our battles to give us victory. 
The word from heaven is a word spoken or given through the indwelling Spirit of God for a particular situation or purpose at a specific time. This word is meant to re-create situation and to empower the believer to engage the enemy in a one-sided victorious battle in his favour as he aligns or position himself in the will of God –who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom? Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? And thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies? Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. Psalms 60:9-12. 
The Centurion man whose servant was sick got the revelation of the power and authority of divine sentence or the massager word during his encounter with Christ by saying this to the Lord; ‘I am not worthy that thou should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, go, and he goeth; and to another, come, and he cometh; and to my servant, do this, and he doeth it’. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion, go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour. Matthew 8: 8-13.                                                                                                                           
As we wait patiently before the Lord in fasting and prayer, the Lord will send his word to clarify his will concerning our situation. We can also implore him for a word in the face of any challenging situation like Joshua asked and received instructions for the conquest of Jericho. ‘And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, what saith my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place where on thou stand is holy. And Joshua did so’. The Lord is a man of war and he is the Lord of host- the captain of our battles with the strategic words and instructions as general of his armies. He gave them the technicality for the war and assured them of success and victory to bring the wall of Jericho down.                                                      Whenever the Lord gives his word to any situation in our lives, such is the final verdict to the matter. ‘Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer that goeth not out of feigned lips. Let my sentence (verdict) come forth from thy presence; let your eyes behold the things that are equal’. Psalms 17:1-2.                                                                                                                                     
Have you ever fought a legal battle and you were favoured by the court verdict? You act to take possession as soon as possible according to judge’s and court’s order. The law enforcement agents are now behind you to enforce the court’s order and the state prosecutor will back off; and for sure, he’s now on your side, even if you are the defendant. This is what David meant when he says, The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. When the Lord commanded, it will stand fast. Satan and his demons can’t resist or object to any verdict from heaven; for that shall be accounted against them as the contempt of divine court’s order, and it will not be good for them to be tormented before their final time – so they back off! Psalms 68:11-12. 
Either to a nation or to an individual like king Nebuchadnezzar, the heavens do rules on earth, and the decree of the watcher or holy one stands unchanging. God is ever in control of whatsoever is going on in our world and we need not to panic about anything as we keep our peace in Christ. Instead of the soul of the righteous to famish, the Lord will rather give commandment to the ravens to feed him. He will redeem the soul of his servants, and none that trust in him shall be desolate. ‘The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightings, and discomfited them. Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils. He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters. Joshua 5:13-15. Psalms18:13-16.  
In the first encounter of the Lord with Simeon Peter, he used the messenger word to call his attention to divine power and to win his soul. The Lord commanded him to lunch into the deep and let down his nets for a draught. Peter was first reluctant and objected because of the fruitless toil and efforts he and the other fishermen had gone through throughout the night and had caught nothing. He then thought within himself, wait a minute, what have I to lose, if I could just try just one more time as he thought within himself? Ok Lord, according to your word, I will do as you bid. And he was amazed by the great multitudes of fishes they caught and their net brake. Luke 5:1-10.                                                                     
The messenger word is commonly given through the prophetic revelation and instruction from the Lord to the nations, kings and individual. There is reward of obedience that follows, if you believe in the Lord your God that you might prosper; and in his prophets, that you might be established. There are still good and honest prophets of God out there in the body of Christ- but let a prophet speak and let other judge. We should fight the good fight through prophetic words, but never should we be carried away by unbiblical and ungrounded prophetic instructions which should not be allowed to manipulate our lives robot-like. The messenger word can come to us directly in the form of hearing a small still voice or through dreams. King David was also a prophet of God; nonetheless, there were at least three to four other prophets in his life to sharpen him and helped brought him into the perfect purposes of God for his life. Perhaps, at a point in your life, you may need a good prophet for specific direction and understanding of the times and seasons you may find yourself. Prophets are given as gift for the perfection of the saints and edification of the body of Christ. Prophetic office is operational in the New Testament church and there exists faithful prophets in the present church who has the word of God with them like Elisha the Son of Shaphat. 2 Kings 3:12. 
Don’t forget that our Lord occupied the five-fold ministry and many referred to him as ‘a great prophet’ has risen among us. God spoke to Prophet Ananias and led him to pray for Saul before he became Apostle Paul to recover his sight shortly after his conversion from the blindness that smote him from the light of the glory of God on his way to Jerusalem to persecute the church. At Paul’s end, God likewise revealed to him that one Ananias by name shall pray for him for the recovering of his sight -that is the life-giving power of the messanger word. Prophet Elijah was sent to the poor widow of Zerephath for his sustenance when the heaven was shut up for three and half years and there was a great famine in the land of Israel. She believed and obeyed the instruction given by the messenger word (Elijah said to her, don’t worry about a thing. Go ahead and do what you’ve said. But first make a little cake or bread for me and bring it here. Then go ahead and make a meal from what’s left for you and your son. This is what the Lord is saying; the jar of flour will not run out and the bottle of oil will not run become empty before God send rain on the land and end this drought) and she was abundantly rewarded for it.                                                                                                                              
Prophet Elisha gave the messenger word as instruction to Naaman the Syrian army captain- ‘go and dip yourself seven times in the river of Jordan and you shall be cleansed from your leprous’. Reacted angrily, he objected; but through the wise counsel of one of his servants that accompanied him, he obeyed and was healed.                          
According as his divine power has given unto us all things pertaining to life and godliness through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue…our present calamitous situation does not define who we are or what shall become of us in the near future and in our entire life’s existence. God has the final say over every situation as a miracle worker, giving grace and glory, strength and power, and abundance where there is lack and want. You may wake up this morning without a dime in your pocket in a deep and abject poverty or bankruptcy, but the Lord will say to you that by this very time tomorrow you shall become a millionaire; come what may, if you believe and take him by his word, you shall be the millionaire according to the word of God. Is there anything too hard for God to do? 
Any instruction from the Lord obeyed will deliver the miracle desired like Jesus said to the noble man; go home, your son lives; and the child was made whole at the same hour the word was spoken. John4:49-53. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in that sickness or disease, but If the Lord speak healing to you, your body, soul and spirit will be instantly healed as it is written, ‘He sent his word and healed them; and delivered them from their destructions. Psalms 105:20. Matthew 8:3.                                                                                                                                              If it is the Lord who has commanded you to prophesy to the dry and lifeless bones in your life to live, you can be sure that they shall live and flesh shall come to the bones and winds shall touch them and they shall live if you will but prophecy to those hopeless situations that it should turn around according to the word of the Lord. Ezekiel 37:1-14.                                                                                                                                            If you do not doubt the power of the messenger word like the lord on whose hand the king lean did, you will have a new season of surplus and refreshing from the presence of the Lord. He doubted and challenged the power of the messenger word by saying, if God would make window in heaven, might this thing be? And the prophet said, you shall see it, but you will not taste thereof. 2 Kings 7. 
Trust God to intervene as you seek him in your sickness for healing. If God did not move to stir up men’s heart to help you, who will dare try to give you any help when God has not commanded it? No one can end God’s training or chastening season’s time in your life, for there is purpose and time for everything. Joseph was kept long enough in the prison; and he so dearly longed for his release by appealing his innocent conduct and pure conscience to the chief butler whom he had helped to dissolve his fear by dream interpretation of restoration back to Pharaoh’s court and service. The chief butler was released but forgot Joseph in the prison, because his faith and patient must have their perfect work until the verdict from heaven is issued concerning his situation and release, before king Pharaoh could sent and loosed him…. he sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. Psalms 105:17-20.  2 Kings 6:26-27.                               
When the lion roared, who will not fear? When the Lord speaks into your situation who can dare challenge the decree of him who is strong and great in might to execute his word? Everything, including the elements shall all come into harmony and subjection to fulfil his word in your life, just as the great fish heard and obeyed divine verdict to vomit Jonah at Nineveh’s port: so also are fire and hail; snow, and vapors; stormy wind are fulfilling his word- he sends forth his commandment upon earth: his word runs very swiftly. Psalms148:8 (147) 15. Jonah 2:10.                               
God will have us study his word and to lay up good knowledge in our hearts by memorizing the scriptures. We should have the word of God in us, dwelling richly in us in all wisdom, able to admonish others. The Spirit of God will only work with the word of God stored up in the heart to quickens and make them a reality in our walk and experiences in the Lord. Be ready to receive and look out for the word that shall come unto you from the Lord, and say like Samuel, speak Lord, your servant hears. 1 Samuel 3:9. Colossians 3:16.
Messenger word can come from your dream just like Joseph had few of them concerning his future, and they became the force of his commitment and steadfastness before God until the words were fulfilled in his life. The messenger word is all you require to fight a good warfare and to finish your cause (and God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, here am I. And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes Genesis 46:2-4) in life.                                                                               
Messenger word can come in the form of a prophecy – don’t despise it, but hold on to that which is good, and to reject the words that are not for you after your ears tried the words, even as mouth taste meat to bite the good and to reject the unsavoury. Job 34:3. This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck 1 Timothy 1:18-19.                                    
Prayerfully open up to discern through the Spirit of God to give you the inner conviction and witness if the word is for you or not. Messenger word does not operate outside the scope of the scriptures, but within its bond – in fact, it is given to establish the testimonies of the word of God that Jehovah is true- as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not thither, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it. Isaiah 55: 10-11.                                                                 
The messenger word is the token of the Lord’s present with you in the battles of life to give you unflinching courage, and for the assurance of safety in the long journey you embark upon, and in the competitive business and whatever you undertake to make the difference. All is not done after you commit your works and ways into the hands of God, until you are okay (clear, pass or authorise) by him to engage or not- be not hasty to go out of his presence without receiving a word of assurance. Just put into consideration the testamentary account of a rich and wealthy father bequeathed for his children. All that the father has are theirs in common but none dare possess any of those as his after the demise of the father except what is clearly stated in the testament that are as his. Yes, I can live by faith on the written word and hold on to any of the exceeding great and precious promises of God: but mind you, they are not actually mine until they are specifically given by the Spirit that quickens through the messenger word- the letter kills. It is not an active, neither the living faith if I presume to act presumptuously without being led by the Holy Spirit –as many as are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. Messenger word is the power that breaks asunder the bars of iron and gates of brass before you, even as the Lord has gone beforehand to bring you out with joy, and led you forth with peace: that the mountains and the hills should break forth before you into singing, and the trees of the field to clap their hands. The messenger word is all you need before you board that plane or take the cruise (and now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, saying, fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Acts 27:22-25) for the long journey. In the face of any unforeseen accident, the messenger word is your security and assurance because it is the word from him that declares the end from the beginning; and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure –God magnify his word above his name to frustrate the tokens of the liars, and makes the diviners mad; and turns the wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish; that confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; that said to Jerusalem, you shall be inhibited; and to Judah, you shall be built to raise up the decayed places thereof. Messenger word is the power when you are weak, and divine comfort which delights your soul in the multitudes of the thoughts within you, and the light that shines in the paths of the just, shinning more and more unto the perfect day, and the favour that makes the difference in times of need, until the pit is digged for the wicked in your life. Messenger word brings you into the real-life experience of the written word that you might testify that the word of God is quick (alive): and Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Whatever God has done in the past and during the days of Christ in the flesh on earth, he is still doing the same today and will continue to do it until time is no more. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for the word to come to fruition, just rest in the Lord and wait patiently to keep his way if you have received a word.
Messenger word can be given in form of instruction for your business or health and anything, just as I was told by the Lord of recent to reduce sugar consumption. In the face of medical news of those terminal sicknesses without remedy, of which there is no medical breakthroughs or cure, you can ask the Lord for a messenger word and he that healed them through instruction by mere looking at the brazen serpent made and raised up by Moses in the wilderness from the mortal poisonous bite of the lively serpents can give you instructive word for your healing and recovery. Hezekiah was added fifteen years to live more by the messenger word through prophet Isaiah, and he that was told earlier to prepare his house to die, wept and supplicated in prayer to God and prevailed to receive bonus fifteen years to live more and was given instruction to put a lump of figs to heal the boil and was healed. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered. 2 Kings 20:7. Psalms 104:14.                                              
Be it unto me according to your word should be your response for any messenger word from any agent of spiritual communication (dream, prophecy, man of or any child of God, angel, Spirit of God etc.) just as Mary responded the angel which brought her the news of the unheard-of miraculous conception of Christ. The messenger word can take days, weeks, months and even years to come to pass. Lay hold and keep the word in your heart to walk in the path of its fulfilments until its fullness of time from the miracle working God-the time and season changer, and the promise keeper –none of his word shall fall to the ground if you will keep his ways and keep away from your sins and should not wickedly depart from your God. Psalms 18:16-23.
With the messenger word to bask in, thousands shall fall at your right hand and ten thousand at your left; they shall not come near you, only to see with your eyes and to hear with your ears the reward of the wicked. All the men of war and the murmured Israelis in the breach of promise from twenty years upward died before the Lord in the wilderness just as the Lord said. Moses and Aaron also died because of their misrepresentations of God at the waters of Meribah, but Caleb and Joshua (Moses’ successor) among all them that came out of Egypt continue to live because God has spoken that they and the under- aged children of the rebels shall possess the despised land of Canaan. It took another forty-five years for the messenger word given by Moses from God concerning Caleb and Joshua to come to fulfilment before the latter claimed and possessed his portion of inheritance in the land of Canaan at the age of eighty-five – then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, thou knew the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea. Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart. Nevertheless, my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God. And Moses swore on that day, saying, surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s forever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God. And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spoke this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spoke in that day; for thou heard in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so, be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. Joshua 14:6-14.
