The word logo has been used in different senses along with Rhema. Many translation of the bible into Greek uses the terms Rhema and Logos as equivalents and uses both for the Hebrew word Dabar as the Word of God. Some modern usage in Christian Theology distinguishes Rhema from Logos (which here refers to the written scriptures) while Rhema refers to the revelation received by believer from the Holy Spirit when the Word (Logos) is read or studied. Jesus said, the spirit gives life, the flesh profits nothing, and the word he has spoken to us, they are spirit and they are life, indicating that the spirit of God has to bring to our remembrance those words of Christ’s teachings into our sub-conscious mind to empower us with the word of God in our spirit being, and to give life to or quickens the word of God for its manifestation in our lives. John 6:63.                                                                                                         Recently, as I was seeking the Lord’s face in preparation for a church plantation in fasting and prayer, a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. Then a word was audibly spoken which brought a scripture to my understanding – the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage. After that I stood up to search for the passage in the scriptures. Also, I was so glad for the next verse of it which says, I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. This was just about 2am in the morning which was the normal time for my ‘cool of the day’ fellowship and ministering to the Lord. After that I slept back, then had a revelation in my dream of a city gate which I was about to enter but there are armies (which I termed as evil border controllers). These are the demons controlling the spiritual entrance of every villages, rural areas, cities or nations against the invasion of truth and light) at the border of the city. They were so many and are lining and filled up the gate or the border of the city, ready for control and armed to fight. I understood the revelation and began to pray like this: (1.) Every battle at the gate and at the border of my inheritance, scatter and perish in the name of Jesus. (ii) Evil border controllers and controls and oppositions at the border or entrance of the city of my inheritance, scatter and perish in Jesus name. (iii) Every oppositions and resistance at the gate of my inheritance scatter and perish in Jesus name. (iv.) Organized armies of the enemies at the gate of the city of my inheritance, be confused and be disorganized to destroy one another in Jesus name. (v) No weapon fashioned against me at the possession of my inheritance shall prosper and all those who have risen up against me at the border of the city of my inheritance shall fall for my sake in the name of Jesus. Psalms 16: 6-7.
After few days of these prayer points with fast, another word came to my hearing by the Spirit of God in my sleep, saying, Thou art my King, O God, command deliverance for Jacob. The word woke me up from bed, and then I got my bible and searched for the verse. I was so fascinated by what I discovered from the previous verses before the actual ‘messenger word’….. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and planted them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. Psalms 44: 1-4.
Those ‘messenger words’ and revelations are pointing to divine intentions or purposes and the unrelenting efforts and restlessness of the enemy to thwart it in opposition and the Lord’s unchanging determination to give the land by ordering the battle and unfailingly decreeing and ordering victory. The word from heaven is a word spoken or given for a particular situation or purpose at a specific time which is meant to re-create situation and to empower the believer to engage the enemy in a one sided victorious battle in his favour as he align himself in the will of God – Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom? Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? And thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies? Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
The Centurion whose servant was sick got the revelation of the power and authority of divine sentence or the massager word in his encounter with Christ by saying unto the Lord; I am not worthy that thou should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, come, and he cometh; and to my servant, do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour. Matthew 8: 8-13.
We may ask a word from the Lord in our challenging situations like Joshua asked and received instructions for the conquest of Jericho……And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, what saith my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD’s host said unto Joshua, loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place where on thou stand is holy. And Joshua did so (that God was their commander-in-chief: the Lord gave the word, as general of their armies. He gave them their commissions and instructions, and assured them of success. For the Lord spake and it is done. He commanded and it stood fast. Psalms 33:8-9.)                                                                       
Whenever the Lord gives his word to any situation, it is the final verdict to the matter. ‘Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer that goeth not out of feigned lips. Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal’. Psalms 17:1-2.                                                                                                                                     
Have you ever had a legal battle and you were favoured by the court verdict? You want to take possession as soon as possible according to the judge and court’s order. The law enforcement agents are behind you to enforce the court’s order and the state prosecutor is on your side. This is what David meant when he says, the Lord gave the word; thousands called out the good news: kings of the armies are on the run, on the run! While housewives, safe and sound back home, divide up the plunder, the plunder of Canaanite silver and gold. On that day that Shaddai scattered the kings, snow fell on Black Mountain. The enemy can’t object to any verdict from heaven for that shall be accounted against him as the contempt of the divine court order which will not be good for them to be tormented before their final time! Psalms 68:11. The message (MSG).                                                                                                                                   
Do not panic of whatever is going on in the world today because God is ever in control of everything. He will not suffers your soul to famish but will instead give commandments to the ravens to feed you and will cause Kings and governor of this world restless and insomnia when the commandment shall come forth from above for any Mordecai of his people to be honoured, promoted and rewarded and great are the numbers of the angels in heaven awaiting to receive such commandment (s) from the Lord for his people that the order might be executed speedily as the verdict from the ‘celestial court room’ which should not be altered nor changed. Only in one exceptional justified situation like the case of King Hezekiah whose sentence of death was overturned for prolongation of his days on earth…..The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightings, and discomfited them. Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils. He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters…… Joshua 5:13-15. Psalms 18:13-16.
In the narration of the first encounter of the Lord first with Simeon Peter, he used the messenger word to win his soul as he asked him to lunch into the deep and let down his nets for a draught. Peter objected and was at first reluctant because of the fruitless toil and efforts he and the other fishermen had gone through throughout the night but they had caught nothing. He then thought within himself, wait a minute, what have me to lose if I try just once more as he thought within himself. Ok Lord, according to your word I will do as you bid and he was amazed by the great multitudes of fishes they caught and their net brake. Luke 5: 1-10.                                                                                                                                                                                                     
The messenger is word is commonly given through the prophetic as instruction from the Lord to nations, kings and individual. There is reward of obedience that follows, if you believe in the Lord your God that he might prosper you and in his prophets that you might be established.
At a point in your life, you will need a good prophet for specific direction and understanding of the time and season you find yourself. They are given as a gift for the perfection of the saints and edification of the body of Christ. Don’t forget that our Lord occupied the five- fold ministry and many referred to him as a great prophet has risen among us. God spoke to Prophet Ananias and led him to pray for Apostle Paul to recover his sight shortly after his conversion and he revealed to Paul that one Ananias by name shall pray for him to recover him from his blindness. The Prophet Elijah was sent to the poor widow of Zerephath for his sustenance when the heaven was shut for three and half years and there was a great famine in the land of Israel. She believed and obeyed the instruction given by the messenger word (Elijah said to her, don’t worry about a thing. Go ahead and do what you’ve said. But first make a little cake or bread for me and bring it here. Then go ahead and make a meal from what’s left for you and your son. This is what the Lord is saying; the jar of flour will not run out and the bottle of oil will not run become empty before God send rain on the land and end this drought)  and she was abundantly rewarded for it.
Elisha gave the messenger word as instruction for Naaman the Syrian captain: go and wash in the river of Jordan and you shall be cleansed from your leprous. He objected at first but through the wise counsel of one of his servant present with him, he obeyed and was healed. Your present calamitous situation does not define who you are but the promises in the word from God are the truth of who you are and what you shall be. Even if you are without a dime today and are in deep abject poverty and bankruptcy but the Lord will say to you that by this time tomorrow, you shall become a millionaire; come what may, if you believe and take him by his word, you shall be the millionaire according to the word of God, just like the Israelis slaves were granted supernatural favour to leave Egypt with substances-the wealth of sinner is laid up for the just. Proverbs 13:22.
If the Lord specifically says to you; go your way and go about your normal duties, you should know that the situation has already been taken care of, like he said to the noble man, go home, your son lives and the child was made whole at the same hour the word was spoken. John4:49-53.
If the Lord says to you, I will be thou clean, you can be sure that you are already been cleansed, like he said to the leprous man who besought him for healing and cleansing -I will be thou clean- he sent his word and healed them; and delivered them from their destructions. Psalms 105:20. Matthew 8:3
If the Lord orders you to prophesy to the dry and lifeless bones in your life to live, you can be sure that they shall live and flesh shall come to the bones and winds shall touch them and they shall live if you will but prophesy. Ezekiel 37:1-14
If the Lord says to you, at destruction and famine you shall laugh; you can be sure that you will be kept safely in the evil days and enjoy plenty in the time of drought and shall not live just to see and die in the process without partaking in it like happened to the lord on whose hand the king lean who doubted and challenge the power of the messenger word by saying, if God would make window in heaven, might this thing be? 2 Kings 7:1-2.
Joseph was kept long enough in the prison and so dearly longed for his release by appealing his innocent conduct and pure conscience to the chief butler whom he had helped to dissolve his fear by interpreting his dream of restoration back to Pharaoh’s court and service. The chief butler forgot and ignored Joseph in the prison because his faith and patient must have their perfect work until the verdict from heaven was issued concerning his situation and release, before king Pharaoh sent and loosed him…. he sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him. The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free. Psalms 105:17-20.
When the lion roared, who will not fear? When the Lord speaks into your situation who can dare challenge the decree of him who is strong and great in might to execute his word? Everything, I mean everything including the elements shall come into harmony and subjection to fulfil his word in your life just as the fish heard and obeyed his verdict to vomit Jonah at Nineveh’s port: so also, are fire and hail; snow, and vapors; stormy wind are fulfilling his word – He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runs very swiftly. Psalms148:8 (147) 15. Jonah 2:10.
God will have us study his word and to lay up good knowledge in our hearts. The spirit of God will only work with the word of God in us to quickens and make them a reality in our walk with the Lord for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Be ready to receive the word that shall come unto you from the Lord, but first, let the word of Christ dwells in you richly in all wisdom. Colossians 3:16. 2 Corinthians 3:6.
