In one of his discourse with the Jewish people who claimed to be blood related to Abraham, Jesus plainly declared to them that they are of the devil their father, and the lusts of their father they will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. He that is of God hears God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. John 8:44-45.                                                                                                                                                                  
As human beings, we are all God’s creation and creatures, but we are not all children of God. You become a child of God by faith in Christ Jesus through the new birth. This has to do with repentance from sins and regeneration by the Holy Spirit. It has nothing to do with biological blood test based on blood group.The law of spiritual conducts and the fruit of our doings determine who our spiritual fatherhood is, if it is God who has the claim of our paternity (God knows them that are his) or we altogether belong to Satan. If we are walking honesty in accordance to the new identity we received from Christ as a chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation, peculiar people; others will certainly take notice of our spiritual personality (one day Elisha went to Shunem. And a well-to-do woman was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by, he stopped there to eat. And she said unto her husband, behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, which passes by us continually. 2 kings: 4:8-9), not because we seek to be known or sing about it and wearing a poster tee shirt of it, but by our daily walk, deeds and words, we shall become like a city built on the wall which cannot be hid. Detestation for sin and love for righteousness and abhorrence for the things of the flesh and increasing love in the spirit reveals our true
identity in Christ. Enmity with the cultures and practices of the ungodly world reveals our true identity in Christ. You know a lawyer by his robe, a football referee by his dress and a football club by its jersey, but many so called children of God are not different from gang members and prostitutes in appearances when you meet them or see them in their gathering. Either they don’t know or they refused to comply with the dressing code that goes along with their new and true identity in Christ becomes the problem they have to solve and face with God because everything that pertains to life and godliness are clearly written in the scriptures. And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shall thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. The words of our mouth should correspond with our actions lest we become like the Pharisees hypocrites (the children of the devil) for they speak and do not. The pleasure of whom we are fulfilling is seen in our conduct, even a child is known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right. Those actions and deeds are the things that determine our spiritual family as children of God or children of Satan. ‘Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest and the child of the devil. Proverbs 20:11. Jeremiah 4:30. 1 John 3:9-10.                                                                                                                                                              
As children of God, we should be always be ready for the confrontation and challenges against our spiritual identity (but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ) from time to time from the enemy. This is what the bible calls ‘the contradictions of sinners. Christ endured and overcame them all, tempted in all points, yet without sin. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. Hebrews 13:3-4. 1 Peter 15-16.                                                                                                                                         
You should not only make your calling and election sure, you should also live to formalize your true identity to the general public. What manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called sons of God. If Satan challenged Jesus identity often and often, he will not spare to challenge yours in every ways possible, to attack your spiritual credential and to test your level of your estimation, admiration and appreciation of your new and true identity in Christ Jesus. If you are a child of God turn this stone into bread! If you are a child of God, jump down and the angels shall bear you up in their hands! If you are a child of God, bow down and worship for the glory and riches of the world. We shall be challenged and tempted to prove our worth and faithfulness to God as his redeemed- beloved children. We have nothing to prove to the world than to live as light shinning out of darkness in a good conscience to the glory of God. The Lord’s people are his portion – his purchased possessions, and the apples of his eyes. They are his special jewels, valuable and indispensable to him as part of his whole body – they cannot be removed or destroyed.                                                                                                                                                    
By natural birth, we were children of wrath, sons and daughters of Satan. But by spiritual birth, we become adoptive sons and daughters of God through faith Christ Jesus. The nine fruit of the Spirit we received at regeneration must grow increasingly to maturity to authenticate our covenant relationship, while the works of the flesh should be daily crucified and subdued to send the signal to Satan that we are now servants of righteousness, people who has passed from death unto life. ‘By their fruits you shall know them’. The fruit is according to the tree.A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; and a corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit, no, it cannot but bring forth evil fruit. If you know what the tree is, you may know what fruit to expect. When you see a fruit on the table or in the market, you know exactly the type of tree it came from. Never look to gather grapes from thorns, nor figs from thistles; it is not in their nature to produce such fruits.                                                                                                                                    
You identity is in the new life Christ has purchased through his death and resurrection to regenerate you. God intends to give you a new name, a new identity and a new life now, and to destroy the corrupt and lustful past and to give you a new and hopeful beginning for an expected end with godly legacy throughout all eternity. Worldly honours and titles with great earthly family ties, connection, bond and background are of temporal and of little use in view of eternal heritage, blessings, rights and benefits you’ll be able to access and inherit if you become born again by accepting the Lord Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour and going through water and spirit baptism to have your name written in the book of life. Philippians 3:4-7. The consequence at death is irreversible and unimaginable if you are not of born again – born of water and of the Spirit of God, washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. The choice is yours while you live. Who is on the Lord’s side? Who are you? Who do people think you are? What do you think of yourself? There is nothing worst than suffering from ‘spiritual identity crises’ and nothing worse than not quite sure of the true state of your relationship with God. ‘Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:1-3.                                                                                                                                       
Christ continues to stress the importance of a personal relationship with God by telling those Jews that they were wrong in their perception and claims. And, not just because they were Abraham’s seed does not qualify them to become children of God, except they do the works of Abraham or follow after Abraham faith and obedient life styles, if not, they have no part with God. No one can have part with God and with Satan at the same time. If you are hearing and not obeying the word and the voice of God, it means you are not of him. A servant cannot serve two masters. The necessity of sincerity, honest and faithful walk in Christ cannot be overemphasizing from the scriptures. If your daily walk and lifestyle is not correspondence with the word of God – notify and shaper of your relationship with him, it means that you are destroying the relationship. For ye were once darkness, but now are you light in the Lord, walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:1-7.                                                                                                                         
Christ made it clear that his sheep will hear will his voice, and they will follow him. The Holy Spirit bears witness with their spirit that they are sons of God. Jehovah knows all his children by name. He knows their lives, ways and habitations. He gave Peter’s name and address to Cornelius and instructed him to send for Peter who has been appointed to teach and bring him to the way of true salvation and the paths of life in Christ Jesus. He sent Ananias to Saul to pray for him that he might receive his sight and be baptized: meanwhile, he had also prepared Saul’s heart through a vision that one Ananias, a disciple, a child of God and a vessel of honour is on his way to led him to Christ with divine permission and instructions to pray for the recovery of his sight. Don’t get me wrong, there are many vessels that God will use but shall not make heaven because of their non conforming lifestyles to the word of God and gospel of Christ. The bible calls them the vessels of dishonour or workers of iniquity. Christ shall repudiate them at the end for their misrepresentation of him on earth, though they were used by him.                                                                                                                                         
Satan will seek to use sin to rob us of our identity, (good name) if we do not awake to righteousness and stop sinning. Whosoever is calling upon the name of the Lord and whosoever the Lord’s name is upon, should depart from iniquity; otherwise, they are selling themselves back to Satan by their sins. 1 Corinthians 15:34. 2 Timothy 2:19.                                                                                                                                                                     
God is jealous over his children and will not shy at anytime to testify that they are his even as he was not reluctant to testify of Job before Satan and of Christ at the Mount of transfiguration declaring ‘this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’.                                                                                                                                                                           The Lord Jesus Christ will not be ashamed to own us and to confess and admits before God and his angels in heaven that we are his as long as we hold the boldness of our confidence faithfully unto the end for his testimony, glory and purposes.                                                                                                                    
The men and women at the government sectors and organisations or enterprises sometimes wear a plastic, metal badge with words and a passport picture fasten or sewn to their clothes for identification. The emblem shows who they are or their ranks. The badge is not only for recognition, but for free and unhindered passage and access to any great gathering or access to any important facility where ordinary person should not be allowed enter. There are certain places someone without the right badge will not have clearance and access to enter because of security purposes and the important and value of such events or places.                                                                                                
The Lord has his blood as mark of identity on his children. We are called by his name because he has purchased us by his precious blood (and the Lord said unto him, go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. Jeremiah 9:4) and he watches over them day and night, lest any hurt them. He will rebuke kings and nations for their sakes; saying, touch not my anointed, and do my servants no harm. We are now God’s peculiar people and are not like others. We are unique and not like others who do not know God or have Christ living in them. He has ordered his angels to keep us from all evil and has given charges that they should bear us in their hands, lest we strike our feet against the stones. The honour of our relationship procures the privileges and benefits of uncommon attention and special treatment from God as his holy angels are sent to minister to us the heir of salvation. Psalms 47:9. Acts 27:23-24.                                                                                                                                           
Genuine children of God are troublemakers to the kingdom of darkness whereby they are. They are Satan’s persistence headache and heartburning. Satan and his demons recognise who they are because the mark of redemption (price of their new identity-the blood of the Lamb) and the light of divine glory and the fire burning of the Spirit in them is shinning and burning. The unannounced presence of God in such people shall force the enemy to confess that Jesus is Lord before them. ‘And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: the same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, these men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation.                                                                                                       
The curse causeless shall not come. We read the story of a sorcerer, a false prophet, full of all subtlety (serpentine nature and character) and all mischief, by the name of Bar –Jesus. He was identified and addressed as the son of Satan, the enemy of righteousness, perverting the right way of the Lord and was cursed to become blind by Apostle Paul for his obstruction against the truth and salvation of the deputy Sergius Paulus. Many such men through fake miracles with cat and serpentine prophetic anointing eyes are in many churches today, perverting the right way of the Lord and teaching fallacy and erroneous messages to turn people away from the unfeigned faith that is in our Lord Jesus Christ.                                                                                                                                                             
Light and darkness shall never co-habit. The light shines in darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it. This is the character, presentation, nature and identity of a true believer. When he or she tries to hide, not because he want to deny Christ, but because of his humility, the light will betrays him and his speeches will testify against him before the sons and daughters of Belial that he belong to Christ.                                                                                                                                                    
In 1989 back at Baffousam (Cameroun) a mad woman was brought in from another city for healing and deliverance. Certain brothers came along to the church to support in prayer and some came to witness the ministration. But before the commencement, the evil spirit in the young lady turned directly and addressed a brother and threatened to jump into him if he would not retreat or go away from the premises, having committed fornication just yesterday. Thus the brother’s sinful deed was exposed by the evil spirit, and he cowardly and shamefully left the place.                                                                                                                                                                 
The honour attached to our redemption makes us as kings, princes and princesses (the princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted. Psalms 47:9) and priest unto God by the blood of Jesus. As the prince of God, our spiritual personality and social stature are changed. This celestial and royal title restricts us from certain social or personal habit of taking strong drink. We are to be sober and thoughtful in our daily walk as regarding the word of God, lest we bring reproach to Christ name…..It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Proverbs 31:4-5. Romans 14:21. Revelation 1:6.                                                                                                                                          
As kings and priests of the Most High, our spiritual identity should be maintained. It should not be falsified like the certain seven sons of Sceva attempted to use Apostle Paul’s name and the power of light and authority of Christ in him to cast out demons from a possessed man….then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of Jesus, saying, we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches…and the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Acts 13: 6-11(19) 13-16.                                                                                                
Now are we children of God and do we need to affirm our identity in Christ Jesus? Yes we do, because Christ did the same over and over again when confronted by the people or by adverse situation. John 8:25.
The conscience will bear us witness and our thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing us as to the reality of what and who we truly are in Christ, if it is not seared with a hot iron. Are people not suffering from delusional disorder and spiritually paranoia to get to heaven if they are presently sowing to the flesh and hope to reap incorruptible life afterward in heaven, though they claimed to be Spirit filled? The duty and responsibility of our identity is to show forth the praises of him who has called us out of darkness (behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called a child of God) into his marvellous light. To show forth his praises, we must walk worthy of our calling as good and faithful ambassadors, representing Christ justly and holily and without blame in our walk before men. We are to serve others in love, but not make ourselves servants of men as men pleasers, but as people redeemed and bought by the precious unblemished blood of Christ. If we know the value and prestige attached to the worthy name we have in Christ and shares with him; then we shall instantly renounce all hidden things of dishonesty, not to walk in craftiness and not handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of truth, commending ourselves to every man conscience in the sight of God.                                                                                                                 
Christ pronounced doom on the Pharisees hypocrites. A hypocrite loves to hide and is in darkness –a child of Satan. They openly or secretly resist the truth and do not abide in it by twisting it suitable for their purpose. They continually work iniquities and excused it for the weaknesses of the flesh. Such people are in need of deliverance from spiritual psychotic disorder characterised by distortion of reality of life they are living in contrast to the truth as in Christ Jesus according to the law of liberty, that they should put off concerning the former way of life the old man, which is corrupt according to its deceitful lusts, and to put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created it. Ephesians 4:22-23.                                                                                                                                           
The truth is that evil spirits are responsible for all the works of the flesh and nothing is natural or normal about the fleshly lusts that wages war against the souls of men. Each sin has name of a particular demon emblem to and attach with it as the proprietor. When you cling to sin for its pleasure, the proprietor claims you as his property. Sin is the avenue and access for evil and unclean spirits to possess man and damn his soul together with them at the end in hell, where their fire is quenches not and their worms does not die. Each demon is lord and master of his victim and has the right to claim the ownership over such soul at death. We have seen from different deliverance ministrations, the examples of resistance from evil spirits putting up a tough fight and claiming the victim’s body (speaking from or through the victim’s mouth) as his house and given reasons why he’s not going out – perhaps, by certain deep sin, bond or covenant, directly by the victim or indirectly from the victim’s parents or from the ancestors…when you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the spirit of disobedient. Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God. Ephesians 3:2-3. Hebrews 6:1.
