The vessel unto honor and vessel unto dis-honor. 2 Timothy 2; 15-21.

Jesus likens the kingdom of heaven like unto a net that was cast into the sea and gathered of every kind; which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away…so shall it be at the end of the world; the angels shall come forth and sever the wicked among the just. And shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13; 47-50.

It is interesting that both vessels of honor and dishonor are needed and used by God in his great house –the church. Those vessels of dishonor are like the mixed multitudes of the Egyptians which went out of Egypt with the children of Israel (i) These are they that ran to Goshen for refuge against the plights that befell Egypt and left  their land in the Exodus for fear of the destruction of the land at the departure of the Israelites (II) They were merely saved and baptized in the red sea  just to profit from whatever goodness and blessings that the Lord has in store for his people without their readiness to change from their old ways of life once lived in Egypt, neither expectation of the same, that is, they do not understood that walking with God in the wilderness to the promised land is to purge the children of Israel from all the old customs, lifestyles, mentality and waywardness, ungodliness and idolatry of Egypt before entering the promised land – thus the mixed multitudes felt lusting – thus many of the Israelites were influenced and held on to their former slavery and sinful ways of life once lived in Egypt – thus God was grieved and lamented – they do always erred in their hearts; and they have not known my ways. So, I swore in my wrath, that they shall not enter my rest. Exodus 12; 38. Numbers 11; 4. Hebrews 3; 7-12. (Iii) They served as a reminder that as long as this present earth and world remains, no place shall be thoroughly cleansed and be totally freed from the corruption that has been in the world since the fall, except in individual which has been called out of the world, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, washed by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost, which was shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior and are walking accordingly in the fear and knowledge of God, walking out their own salvation with fear and trembling  –  moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is time there for every purpose and for every work. Ecclesiastes 3; 16-17.

There is divine wisdom, lesson and purpose of God in allowing the mixed multitudes into the midst of his people to the wilderness, allowing the tares among the wheat, the bad among the good, leaving it to grow and to thrive in the garden of his kingdom until the time of harvest. Matthew 13; 24-30.
If the believer does not abide and attached to God, to continue and finish what he has begun in us, we all are prone to changes and the first can become last and the last can become first- thus on the other hand, that which was once a vessel of honor, if high-minded and not fear, can become a vessel of dishonor; while the vessel of dishonor can become a vessel of honor if requirements of self-purging are met.

The scriptures must be fulfilled- for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2; 14. God has his purposes and interests in the vessels of honor as well as of dishonor, having wisely created all things for his pleasure, they are and were created. Apostle Paul discovered this truth and wrote in his epistle to the Philippians thus – But I would you should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; and many of the brethren waxing confident by my bounds, are much bolder to speak the word without fear. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife (vessels of dis-honor and wrath) and some also of good will; the one preaches Christ of contention, not sincerely (vessel of dishonor) supposing to add affliction to my bounds; but the other of love (vessel of mercy and honor), knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel. What then? Notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense (by vessels of dishonor) or in truth, (by vessels of honor) Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and I will rejoice. Philippians 1; 12-18.

Those Vessels of dishonor are such human instruments used by God and are cast away, rejected and denied to possess the kingdom they proclaimed in insincerity, ungodliness – such that works iniquity in fleshly wisdom and despised the spirit of grace to walk in the Spirit – Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 2 Corinthians 4;1-2.
(1) We have such in Ananias and Sapphira his wife, though they gave charitably to the church, yet they perished with their monetary gift for the work of the Lord because they did not purge themselves from lies, deceit and hypocrisy – woe unto him that do the work of God deceitfully.  Acts 5; 1-11. Jeremiah 48; 10. (11) We have example of such people in Simeon the sorcerer, which used sorcery to preach religion – this man is the great power of God. Acts 8; 9-11.

You wondering seeing many men and women of God performing miracles, signs and wonders, manifesting gifts of the Spirit of God, yet, their life and walk betrays their words and preaching, marvels not, both must grow together until the time of harvest when the Lord shall come to separate the wheat (good and faithful children of the kingdom, the good vessels) unto himself from them that causes offences (the children of the wicked one, the tares and the vessels unto dishonor) into the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (iii) such that fails to walk in good works which God has ordained for us to live in them  – Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;  was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 24; 41-46. 3 John; 9-11.

Those redeemed by the blood of Jesus and refused to walk in the newness of life, walking like the gentiles in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened…given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness – these are sinners of His people that shall perish by the sword of divine justice, when divine longsuffering is overdue – these are the redeemed that refused to be dead to sins but continue still in their trespasses – but God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as get on still in his trespasses. Ephesians 4; 17-23. Amos 9;10. Psalms 68; 21. 1 Peter 4; 1-3.

It is said to be our duty and responsibility as people called by His name to depart from iniquity. Those who would have the comfort of the privilege must make conscience of the duty. If the name of Christ be called upon us, we must depart from iniquity, else he will not own us; he will say in the great day – Depart from me, I never knew you, you workers of iniquity. We chose to become a vessel of mercy or of wrath if we choose or not  to purge ourselves from all that defiles which is in the heart – For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies…it is an obligation for each and every one of us, in view of the sacrifice made for us by our Passover Lamb, that is Christ, to keep the feast of unleavened bread, (pure and sanctified life styles) in sincerity and truth, not with the old leaven , neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness. Matthew 15; 19. Galatians 5; 19-21.

We must go to the Lord for this process to obtain his power and grace for self-purging – for if a man therefore purges himself from these things, he shall be vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work. The Lord shall give grace and glory. He shall also give strength and power. He is our sanctifier, our sanctification. Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No, not one, except the Lord! Job 14; 4.

There is a limit to which an unsanctified vessel (vessel unto dishonor, of wood and of earth) can be used. Only the thoroughly purged and sanctified vessel (vessel of honor, of gold and of silver) can be prepared and used unto every good work. 2 Timothy 2; 21.
Even a vessel of honor can be divinely allowed, under divine providence to be purposely tried, overcome and fall. This is purposely and divinely designed to purge and to make them white, to prepare them for greater work and home going – And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. Daniel 11; 35.

Vessels which refused to be purged from all that defiles and be made ready for the master’s good works shall be purged out by God as rebels from his kingdom. Ezekiel 20; 38. There must be total consecration and sanctification for Christ full formation in us. Galatians 4;19.
We all needed this very important purging in us, lest after we have preached to others, sing for the Lord, did many good and wonderful works in his name, presented and paraded ourselves as Christ ambassadors, we ourselves should not be cast away! God forbid. 1 Corinthians 9; 27.
