And the Lord said unto Samuel, how long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. And Samuel said, how can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me. And the Lord said, take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the Lord. And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show thee what thou shall do: and thou shall anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.1 Samuel 16:1-3.
Note: the wisdom of the prudent is not only to understand his way, but to understand the people he’s dealing with (Proverbs14:8) lest he fall for to the hand of such a wicked man like King Ahab who enforced and insisted that the truth of God’s will and mind be told him by prophet Micaiah (and the king said unto him, how many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the Lord?) but afterward imprisoned the Lord’s servant for the truth spoken because he was not for the truth (1 Kings 22:26-27): though the words of the wise are true, yet, they are like goads (Ecclesiastes 12:11) like a pointy stick to provoke reaction – good or bad coming out from fountain of life which calls for wisdom of cautiousness on the measure of word and manner to spill out holy things (the foolish man that utters all his mind, but a wise man keeps it till afterwards. Proverbs 29:11), lest they should provoke avoidable aggressive reaction and destructive action of the foolish and wicked receiver (give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Matthew 7:6), when they shall speak in the ears of a fool, who will not only despise the wisdom of such words (Proverbs 23:9), but will move a – step further, either to punish the wise for the veracity of his word (and the king of Israel said, take Micaiah, and carry him back unto Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;  and say, thus says the king, put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace. And Micaiah said, if thou return at all in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me. And he said, hearken, O people, every one of you. 1 Kings 22: 26-28) or altogether destroy him as one of the evil seen under the sun of a righteous man that perishes in his righteousness: be not righteous over much; neither makes thyself over wise: why should thou destroy thyself? Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why should thou die before thy time? Ecclesiastes 7:15-17.
Our Lord’s brethren in the flesh (Mark 6:3) challenged him to express his personality and to flaunt his glory before his admirers by going with them to the feast, but the Lord calmly answered he was not interested going to the feast, but afterward went secretly to the same feast of tabernacles (go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come. John 7:8) to avoid the provocation of the Jews seeking to kill him. John 7:1: (b) to avoid self-glorification, self-exaltation, and the pride of life he was being tempted by his brethren. What do you do as a wise man when you see evil? You’ll do anything to hide yourself, lest you display the confidence of a foolish man and get punished or destroyed. Proverbs 27:12. Christ response to his brethren was not a deceptive answer or hatred to walk in the company of his unbelieving brethren (for neither did his brethren believe in him. John 7:5), but an expression and action of self-control in the call for the wisdom to walk with them that are outside, redeeming the time, for the days are evil. Colossians 4:5.
This is the controversial – justifiable wisdom of faith in the wise and faithful children of the kingdom in Christ Jesus – the wisdom is justified of her children. Matthew 11:19. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Proverbs 4:7-9
The spiritual comes before the physical: the former controls the latter which  is only in existence to fulfill spiritual plans, objectives and purposes programmed into it – let there be and there was as the infinite realm of God decides the unfolding events of the world of changes and seasons with power to influence the behaviors of men with actual outcome of things in the physical realm: this is the reason we should be conversant with God who is a spirit in our daily walk and ways for wisdom, safety, preservation and incessant victory. 1 Samuel 25:15.
Your loyalty and responsibility to God should come first above any other. The perception of man and his judgment of you is of no importance in the sight of him who sees not as man sees, and will never judge according to appearance, but judges righteously. What God thinks and says about you should be more important to you than what any evil husband or wife, ungodly children or anyone would say or think about you – your praise and sufficiency is of him, and your defense and judgment is of God, who saves the upright in heart. Psalms 7:10.
God takes the wise in their own craftiness, thus the craftiness and the wickedness of the old serpent is made as foolishness by the unequal wisdom of the Only wise God through the law of spiritual necessity given and applicable to outsmart the serpent and his churlish children who seems to be wise in their own sight than the children of the kingdom (and she said unto her servants, go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.1 Samuel 25:19) to facilitate spiritual assignment (s) in the face of any present danger and avoidable destruction against God’s plans and purposes – if the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. Ecclesiastes 10:10.
Because the spiritual is more important than the physical, pleasing God by all means and at all cost should be more important than to seek favor, approval and praises coming from the world or men in the flesh. Believers should walk daily in the revelation of the manifold wisdom of God designed from eternity in the fellowship of the mysteries which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in him who created all things by Jesus Christ: to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom (this wisdom is meant to counter the oppositions and resistance of the powers and operations of darkness and the human agents, envious brethren, sons and daughters of Belial against the purposes and counsel of God). Ephesians 3:10-11.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, Christ instructed. Mt.10:16 a. The serpent is very cunning and destructive against everything that has to do with God and his purposes: but above all, the Lord is the Only Wise and Potentate God. The church is ordained, commissioned and appointed by God to demonstrate and walk in different aspects of divine wisdom against the wiles and the oppositions of the powers and principalities in the heavenly places as it is written that in Christ are hid all the treasure of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3.
God takes pleasure and he greatly delights in his wise children. Do you foolishly narrate the facts of your situtation in Christ Jesus to the haters and mockers of God who are waiting for your failure and falling, instead of wisely speaking faith to his faithfulness by declaring and defending the faithfuless of his word according to your expectation to deny the enemy from hearing what they’ve been waiting and hoping to hear from you?  In the name of being friendly and honest, do you foolishly give vital informations away to the enemies of the cross of Christ who are not praying that his will be done in your life and will not stop at anything to hold you down or draw you back? Do you study your enviroment with the kind of people around you to deal wisely like Abraham did (and Abraham said, because I thought, surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake. Genesis 20:11) in his walk of faith before God and was divinely defended and delivered, not once but twice?
As a new creature believer in Christ Jesus, you are presently operating from higher level (third heavens) where Christ is seated on the right hand of God, greater in might than the position of the enemies in the spirit realm. Remember that in our conversion and spiritual translation into the kingdom of light to partake in the divine nature, we were raised up together and are made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, far above principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, so that the devil should not outsmart you in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1: 17-23.
King Saul was out-rightly – completely and entirely rejected after his willful disobedient to the command of God in the war against the sinner Amalekites. God sent prophet Samuel to Jesse’s house to anoint Davis as the next king over the Israelis, but Samuel considered the danger such work entails if the reigning King Saul heard of the news and anointing of another king in his stead before his death….and Samuel said, how can I go? If Saul heard it, he will kill me. And the Lord said, take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the Lord. And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show thee what thou shall do: and thou shall anoint me him whom I name to thee. 1 Samuel 16: 1-3. Sacrifice to the Lord and former anointment of a king is not the same ceremony. It was clear between God and Samuel that the mission to Jesse’s house was not to sacrifice to the Lord, but to anoint a king among his sons before the Lord in the place of the rejected, reigning and rebellious king. Thus the wisdom communicate by God to Samuel was given to nullify any threat, resistance, obstruction or any aggression such mission may encounter from king Saul, and to protect the life of Samuel himself, and the life of the future king David in preparation until he is unveil to the general public, and to protect Jesse and his entire family.
Some people make themselves very difficult to deal with, both in the church and outside it, so, he that searches the heart places them where they rightly belongs. If you tell them truth or not, they don’t believe you (Titus 1:15), you need to use your head to deal with them: do not be as a fool walking along the road, his [common] sense and good judgment fail him and he demonstrates to everyone that he is a fool. Ecclesiastes 10:3.
God is not a man to lie, neither do any of his children and servants speak lies (2 Kings 4:16), but they speak truth from the heart to one another among them that love and abide in truth (Eph. 4:25), and they speak wisdom among them that are wise: but for those who do not love the truth, God’s truth shall not be spoken or given, but shall be withdrawn from them to be led away with the false teachers and deceivers – the blind leaders of itching ear believers – deceiving and being deceived.
David learnt to tap from this treasure of wisdom in his time of persecution and self banishment from the city from king Saul to avoid being killed after the king knew assuredly that David was admired, appreciated, respected and expected by the people to be the next king as he sought to eliminate him out of envy and wickedness of his heart.
When David got to Nob while trying to escape away from the pursuit of King Saul, Ahimelech the priest was afraid at the meeting of David and said unto him, why are you alone, and no man is with thee? And David said unto the priest, the king has commanded me a business, and has said unto me, let no man know anything of the business where about I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. Now therefore what is under your hand? Give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what is there present. And the priest answered David, and said, there is no common bread under -mine hand, but there is hallowed bread: if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. And David answered the priest, and said unto him, of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel.  So the priest gave him the hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the showbread, that was taken from before the Lord, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away. Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the Lord; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul. And David said unto Ahimelech, and is there not here under your hand spear or sword? For I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s business required haste. And the priest said, the sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slew in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, there is none like that; give it me. And David arose and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath.  1 Samuel 21: 1-7.
David deceitfully got away with the sword of Goliath to defend himself while in exile, and he received bread reserved and meant for the priest to eat to satisfy his famine and the need of those that are with him. Had he not made mentioned of the king’s errand, priest Ahimelech will definitely made objection and second thought to his demands. 1 Samuel 22:14-15.
Our Lord Jesus made a bold reference to this wise act of David in one of his encounter with the hypocritical sinners who are trying to find fault with him against his disciples for breaking the Sabbath….at that time Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the Sabbath day. But he said unto them, have ye not read what David did, when he was hungered, and they that were with him; how he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Matthew 12: 1-4.
This was the wisdom the Lord gave to the two Egyptians midwives assigned to the Hebrew women to kill their male children as soon as they are born. But the Egyptian midwives outsmart the Devil in Pharaoh whose intent was to depopulate the Jewish males and to increase the numbers of Jewish females in the land. These women action was deadly risky, sedition unpatriotic before the Egyptians and to the carnal mind,: but nonetheless, their action was accepted, commended and rewarded by God who is the true governor over the nations – and the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: and he said, when ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live. But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive? And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them. Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty. And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. Exodus 1: 15-21.
Look up to Abraham the father of faith and learn to walk wisely towards the wicked people of the world and before the envious sons and daughters of Belial in the church. Was Abraham condemned or justified and defended by God for lying and deceiving the Egyptians that Sarah was not his wife lest they should kill him for his wife’s sake against the purposes and plans of God for his life?  And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon: therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair. The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house. And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels. And the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife. And Pharaoh called Abram and said, what is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife? Why did you say she is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way. And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had. Genesis 12:11-20.

If Abraham had not deceived Sarah as to what the true object of his sacrifice to God should be, how on earth will Sarah possibly have allowed Abraham to go on a journey to sacrifice Isaac unto God, the only child of her old age after all the years of crying and waiting for a child, not considering the shame and humiliation she received from Haggai in Ishmael’s matter. Certainly, Abraham left for the mountain with the consent of Sarah, but without her awareness of what the object of the sacrifice shall be. Isaac himself wandered what the object of burnt offering shall be after three days in a long weary walk of miles toward the mountain of the Lord as he asked Abraham and said, my father; and he said, here am I my son, and he said behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, my son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering…..in the mind of the innocent child, for the trust he has in his father, perhaps, a lamb is already at place tied up on the mountain which motivate his onward journey to the place of the sacrifice with his father. Genesis 22: 7.
Abraham’s faith in the resurrection, accounting and considering that God can and will raise Isaac back to life in his obedience and submission to the command of God (Hebrews 17-19), and his application of the law of necessity in the wisdom which is profitable to direct facilitates his obedience to execute the Lord’s command in the sacrifice of his only son Isaac which Sarah and Isaac by themselves obstruct in opposition against a seemingly barbarous father and would be murderer.
For Jehu to be able to get hold of all of Jezebel’s  false prophet’s of  Baal in order to execute the will of God against them, he deceitfully proclaimed a feast to celebrate and worship Baal with them. He made a false declaration and proclamation to draw out all the false prophets of Baal from their hideout to assemble them for the feast while he strictly warn against the presence of any true prophet of the living God in their midst – and Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much. Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in ‘subtlety’ (wisdom of the serpent) to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal. And Jehu said, proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it. And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another. And he said unto him that was over the vestry; bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments. And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the Lord, but the worshippers of Baal only. And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him. And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them. And they broke down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day. Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel. 2 kings 10; 18-28.
By faith, the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. Hebrews 11: 31.
Apostle James made mention of the work and wisdom of faith  which justified Rahab in God’s sight and saved her and her entire household  from destruction at the fall of Jericho as she received the spies and sent them out in another way, that faith without work is dead being alone. James 2: 25. Rahab was saved and honored by God for her preference to the purpose of God than any praise of patriotism of a cursed nation and people who are doomed for destruction. She put aside any sentiment of being sworn to the constitution of her country to become a national traitor and liar, a deceiver and betrayal who is worthy of capital punishment, but was made a spiritual hero of faith in God’s eternal record, and a great- great-grandmother of our Lord Jesus Christ for lying and deceiving her compatriots. Matthew 1: 5.
God rewarded her wisdom of works in her faith, struggles or labor to co-operate for the fulfillment of divine purpose for the nation of Israeli as she waa made a partaker in the same blessings, benefits and salvation of the people of God. Note: active faith in God will save the worst sinner when evidenced by proper work in meekness of wisdom; and it would not save the best among men without such works as God requires. James 2: 17-26.
David fled from Saul from Nob to seek for asylum protection with the Philistines because King Saul was hotly after him to eliminate him. First, he feigned mental dis-order like a serious and genuine mad man to deceive the Philitines and their King for the fear of any reprisal against Goliath whom he killed (1 Samuel 21: 10-15), but King Achish was glad to receive him because of the favor of God upon David, and for his admiration of him (David) that slew Goliath of Gath – thus he dwelt at Gath at that time. 1 Samuel 27: 1-3.
Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies – and every tongue that shall rise up against thee in judgment shall be destroyed. Romans 8:33. Isaiah 54: 17.
In the course of his sixteen months of stay, David raided, invaded and engaged the Gershurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites which were all the inhabitants of the Philistines land and took the spoils of them for his living and for them with him. Whenever king Achish asked David about the cities and location of his exploitation of war and gains: David always give him the wrong answer to deceive the king that he’s been warning against his own Israeli people, saying against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites. And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, lest they should tell on us, saying, so did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwells with the Philistines. And King Achish believed David, saying, he hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore, he shall be my servant forever. 1 Samuel 27: 8-12. King Achic loved David and relocated him to a special city (Ziklag) to dwell. David dares not made a true declaration of his war exploits and victories against the Philistines before their king to jeopardize his own life and the lives of all those that were with him in his affliction. 1 Samuel 27 verses 3.
